You know those dems that are pushing for increased vehicle mileage requirements? Well, what the genius' did not realize is that when people can go further with less gas, then they don't have to buy as much gas. If people don't buy as much gas, then the government doesn't get the INCOME from the gas tax.

We all know the government can never survive if it loses a source of taxation. So what do they do? They're planning on outfitting every vehicle with a system that will charge the owner by the mileage they drive. Now, if they were to totally get rid of the gas tax and use this system instead, then I might support it; it only makes sense for a person to pay for what they use. But their proposal would tax you for mileage driven on public roads, toll roads...even PRIVATE roads.

So watch out all of you greenies. You may save the environment from "global warning" but you'll pay for it with your wallet. Oh, that's right...you don't care because the government will pay your bill for you. :-p
