Hey, I thought you made some excellent comments on O'Reilly's article about Obama Derangement Syndrome. Obama absolutely is a threat to America and freedom. 61 year old veteran and conservative. Having been an educator and counselor, I have first hand knowledge of how the public education system has been instrumental in destroying the very foundations and core beliefs of what it means to be a United States citizen. My primary belief is that if we do not abolish the U.S. Department of Education and every law, directive, policy and other vestiges and remnants of this department that has been directly responsible for dumbing down and brainwashing the citizens of this country, that we are forever lost as a sovereign and free nation. Education was for over 200 years a function of local governments, which is how it was intended, and everything that the U.S. Government has done in the past 40 years concerning public education has lead to the crisis this country now faces. We have a populace now that has been dumbed down and brainwashed, and the only thing they pay attention to as regards government is what they see on about 5 minutes of the evening news or even less than this, as they hear 30 second sound bites that give them the days Talking Points or Opinion Poll Results. And an ignorant populace is a populace that is easy to manage, and the Social Engineers at the USDOE and the Nationa Teacher Unions know this. Under the Obama Administration's new educational directives and over 200 billion budget this year alone, is designed to completely and totally erase any local and state control of public education, therefore putting all power in the hands of the U.S. Deartment of Education.

This entire scenario must be reversed. And, we do not need to wait for the government to do it, because they will not do it willingly. The only way to take our children and our schools back is to Just Do It.

Parents need to go to their local schools and school boards and just tell them that they demand that their schools be run and controlled by local community standards, and demand that the schools stop teaching their children Politically Correct Nonsense that goes against Family and Local Community Standards. Children deserve to be taught academic skills, and not political indoctrination or morals clarification that teach kids that deviant life styles, for example, have to be accepted. Children are taught at home and in their churches, and then they go to government controlled schools where they are taught to doubt their family, spiritual, and moral beliefs. This causes a great break in families as their young and impressionable children are being taught things that go counter to family and community standards.

In short, the primary plank we need to use is to push for the Abolition of the U.S. Department of Education, and explain to our citizens in grass roots efforts exactly what they are allowing the U.S. Department of Education and the Teacher Unions are doing to their children as they undermine the family and traditional values locally and as U.S. citizens. If we do not take our children back, just imagine what another decade of Government Indoctrination will do to our children who will grow up to be mindless pawns of a Dictatorial Federal Government. This is in a nutshell what the Obama Educational plan has in mind.

The Communists do not want to leave even one child behind who has Not Been Dumbed Down and Brainwashed into becoming totally loyal to the Government as Masters, while teaching children to Defy Parental and Church influences. This is right out of the Handbook For Radicals and Straight out of the Communist Manifesto. If the Obama educational plan is implemented in full, it will take decades, if ever, to undo it. Parents must start NOW and march on their local schools and school boards and demand the schools adhere to parental and local authority, and to ignore USDOE and Teacher Union Directives. If enough parents and communities rebel in unison, we can take Our Children and Our Schools back, and put them under local control where they belong and were intended by the founders of this great nation.

Thank you! I have been railing against the government school system for years. I saw the beginning of it with the introduction of what they at that time called, "The New Math." Students were told not to discuss New Math with their parents and to ignore anything their parents might say about Math. Needless to say that infuriated me. The following day I visited the school principal. The next PTA meeting saw me cause an uproar when I challenged any teacher to ever tell one of my children to not listen to me - about anything. (In those days we could get away with talking in public like that.) I event went so far as to threaten the Principal with violence if he ever allowed it to happen with one of my children.

The next step was the incorporation of psychological testing of 6th graders in which they were queried as to whether their sex lives were satisfactory.

And not too long after that, bussing was incorporated all over the country while schools formerly attended by black kids were closed and eventually torn down.

With the bussing came the obvious threat: The government would withhold federal funding from any school district that did not comply with the bussing requirement. Followed over the years by many federal funding programs, the money of which would be withheld from school districts that refused to comply with Federal mandates.

The so-called Public School systems ceased to exist at that time. Ever since we have had the Government School system. Owned and controlled by the government. Operated by members of one of the strongest and most liberal unions in the nation - the teacher's union.

And the states fell in line like sheep headed for the proverbial slaughter. One of the root reasons as to why Obama now lives in the White House at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Home Schooling for now. Elimination of Dept of Education as soon as possible.

First of all, Thanks Adjuster. Secondly, you are right about Home Schooling. My daughter, who is also a certified teacher of advanced math and science, home schools her children.

Home schooling a great alternative, but home schooling is now a target of the government too. They, the government, fear the fact that too many children will Be Left Out of The Government's Indcotrination Programs and the Dumbing Down that goes along with it.

Barack Obama is the product of 40 plus years of the Propaganda And Dumbing Down of Americans that has taken place.

In this Tuscaloosa News Article, they were speaking of Dropout Rates and the Consequences. The following were my comments:

These are the solutions that need to be addressed. For about 200 years, public schools were under the domain and control of the communities in which the schools were located, and up until this state and local control was subverted by the U.S. government, the U.S. public education system was in the top 2 or 3 in the world for academic outcomes.

Beginning in the 1960's, the federal government began to intervene in Locally Controlled Schools and it has all been downhill ever since.

Children were ripped from their local communities and transported here and yond in an effort to Create Sameness and supposedly, equality. All suffered from these failed policies and decisions.

By the mid-1970's, after only about 10 years of Federal Intervention (Socialistic Policies), academic outcomes were declining at a rapid pace as the Social Engineers continued to Experiment with our children and the school system that had served this nation so well for over 200 years. In the 1976 presidential election, the National and State Teacher Unions got out a great deal of support for Jimmy Carter, who in return, started the U.S. Department of Education as a Gift and Payback to the Teacher Unions, and the Decline in Educational Outcomes that was already in rapid decline, thanks to Federal Interventions, declined at an even more rapid pace. There is a direct correlation between federal interventions and declines in outcomes.
