It's about intellectual Honesty
Val,
Hypocrisy exists on all sides of the aisle. But when your party is in power, don't marginalize, use Alinsky tactics, change the premise of your arguments, call protesters tea baggers and then say it's a dumb premise that I'm pointing out liberal hypocrisy.
The party in power should set the standard across the board, not just for their own side.
Liberals break their own rules when they have a guy like Alan Grayson go on the House floor and tell everyone Republicans want you to die quickly, but then turn around and complain because Joe Wilson called the president a liar.
If Sarah Palin is an extremist in liberals' view, than so should Van Jones be categorized as an extremist, too. If our "extremist" quits her job because of a smear campaign and your "extremist" quits his job because of a smear campaign, if that's the premise, than the answer should be one or the other.
Either they are both quitters or they are both making a great move. You can't apply one standard to one person and then apply a totally opposite standard to the other. It's intellectually dishonest and completely destroys the integrity of any argument you can make after that.
