is that the Military Industrial Complex as a business likes to sell goods to the Military, the more goods they sell the more money they make. Every bomb, bullet and boot puts our money into their pocket. More service members on the battlefield requires more logistics support and more of our money is spent. When body armor is damaged a replacement is needed.
I am sure that a great deal of profit is made on every new service member. The initial G.I. is substantial. Then the training that follows also adds to the start-up costs.
