i try to tell my fellow

Christians and others who ask, that "God is not an ATM machine". I use prayer mostly to say "thanks" and give praises. Also to pray for others and I do ask in His name for things for myself but only if it is His will. So I agree whole-heartedly with you and C.S. Oswald Chambers "My Utmost for His Highest" is extremely valuable to me.

BTW- great to see that you've come to townhall! I always enjoy your thoughts! Myself, I've run into sort of a wall on what to blog next. Ebb and flow of what's important or entertaining enough to blog. But I'm sure I'll dig up something:)

G'day!

Hey, SP. Thanks for showing up. Like you, I'm having a bit of blog writers' block (although that's not new -- my old blogspot blog was also notable for months-long gaps between posts.

Plus, I'm still trying to figure out how to format my posts -- it seems some of the text-modification boxes are missing from my townhall toolbar.

Very interesting post

I think its not a need thing for God, but that it shows God that we are recognizing his sovereignty when we ask things of Him. I don't know if my wording makes sense, but I think praying for Gods intervention is a form of obedience. Jesus did so, knowing the answer when He did. By the way, does proud duck mean you are an Oregon alumni or is it more random than that?
