I'll hold my breath
I was sucker punched by the republicans after the contract with America was thrown under the bus with Newt. After that allI saw was republicans trying to out Democrat the Democrats.Since the results of the last two elections did not teach one damn lesson to the people who had a golden opportunity to make a statement a month ago,but decided to add their 40% of pork to the budget,I will look elsewhere for a principled party or maybe a special candidate.Sarah Palin could be that principled person, but all I see is senior republicans who think they are entitled to a position for that reason alone. They trashed Palin almost as much as the Dems. did.She is real. She is not a millionaire. She took on the most powerful politicians of her own party in Alaska and won.She connects with the average American like Reagan did.I see no other Republican that can get the Reagan Democrats,or the JFK republicans who just might be the same people.Anyone that would rather go hunting or to a gathering of real friends than a plastic washington insider champagne and caviar cocktail party gets my vote.Anyone that saw the HBO special mini-series on John Adams,Sarah Palin reminds me of Adams at the first French Dinner party. With the men all made up with lipstick and cake make-up being the Washington insiders.Franklin's first piece of advise was to cheat on his wife. The disgust Adams had for the French is the same as Palin has for the corrupt Washington insiders. That is what the Republicans need to get back to! If they can't feel the heat from this firestorm, they are toast.

It does seem as though when either party gets the majority they tend to forget who they are. Unfortunately, I believe the Democrats have the majority and they are being who they are this time. I hate to use words like Socialism and such but that is exactly what they are heading towards. Like Mike Huckabee said(paraphrased of course), Conservatives have never had the wrong principles but the application of these principles have been the problem. When we get back to acting like conservatives, we will be fine. I like Palin as well. The 2012 elections should be exciting, but regardless of the nominee, Obama must either change or the next candidate will run on his old platform-- Change We Can Believe In....
