Comment on: Time For Change

Why Palin Doesn't Matter.

Well Said

If only they would listen...but they won't.

How quickly the now loyal have forgotten - or are willing to overlook - that McCain's instinct was to pick Joe Liberalman.

They are Scared and Confused.

Thanks for the comments,

I think that they are scared and confused.

That is why I think they are not looking at things clearly.

What they should be scared of though is what John McCain might do and what that might do to conservative influence in government.

But you are right that they have not been wanting to listen, and they will even be angry at you, the messenger.

What I think is worst is that even if McCain won it would be a big liberal victory, so the only logical thing to do would be to ditch it and work on something you know might make a difference, like congress which might actually do well if they got all the support. But they are not getting the support and apparently will not, and therefore they will lose along with McCain because people aren't listening to reason.

Man, TNCon

I'm glad you said it. I've held off, because people are already tired of my constant preaching, I think, but every time I hear that "Palin in 2012" stuff, I always want to ask them: "are you hoping McCain's gonna die?"

I, too, think it's either absolutely sick, or simply a total denial of reality.

Because there's NO WAY McCain's not going to run again if he wins. He is NOT going to just step down. Hell, that hasn't happened since before FDR. If ever. I can't think of one instance in history off the top of my head.

Which means the only other alternative is that he's dead.

Sick, sick, sick.

It is pretty sick.

Thanks for the comments.

Like I said here, Dole was pretty much the same exact age as McCain, and Dole is still alive today in his mid-80s. Carter, Bush 41, Dole and many others are in their 80s and 90s.

McCain, if he manages to win would run again in 2012 for re-election. Which would probably be against Clinton or perhaps something even worse. Another real loser election for Conservatives.

I also am a Tennessee conservative

It seems that we WILL have an even-more-Democrat-and liberal-controlled House and Senate following November.

We might well have a radical socialist POTUS. If we do, along with the new-and-"improved" congress, the possibilities are downright scary.

Or we might get a usually-principled populist-statist Republican, who's ignorant vis-a-vis both economics and science as well as computer-technology illiterate. Any hope of his learning more economics or science while on this planet is scant.

But, this Republican can be counted on to reach across the aisle to the very-Liberal-Democrat legislators to get things done. The result? Outcomes that are scary and blame that redounds to Republicans.

Should we'all vote for Obama while preparing Contract with America II for 2010?
