I think Palin can hold onto her views irregardless of McCain's faults. He has voted 95% conservative during his Senate tenure and that seems to be buried under all the bitterness over some issues that conservatives disagree with.

BO and Biden have the same problem. They are at odds, at least if you listened to the primaries, on many an issue.

If something happens to McCain during his term, if he were elected, we would have in place, a true, fighting hard, kicka^^ woman Republican. I see it as hopeful and the glass half full, not the glass half empty with this pick.

I also am not so darn sure this was a pick for Hillary's disaffected women voters who wouldn't vote for a pro choice ticket anyway. I think this pick is more for the blue collar, gun toting, God loving people that BO kicked in the teeth with his statements.
