Smaller is better?

smaller class size

i agree that smaller class size is a huge help most of the time. Not the only issue and we need to look at how much it costs to keep those classes small, what else gets cut etc. but smaller classes, more teachers is a good thing.

small classes in math

I have noticed that when small groups of kids come in for math tutoring, I can get far more progress out of 3-5 kids in a half hour than a class of 30 in an hour. most of the difference lies in the individualization of instruction in a small group. In science, for certain subjects within the class (like stoichiometry or transcription and translation) the same thing applies. Smaller classes allow you to taylor your teaching to the kids you have.
