How many of them have been caught doing something and they still sit in office. They collect their pay check. They probably have no clue what the Constitution is.
Real change in Washington would be to kick them out or send some of them to jail. Now that would be real change!
Good post.

Cindy. Pregnant with dire significance
"We The People" once simply meant the folks on the North American Continent whose souls were as "good" as heaven's "gold." Presently, no simplicity whatsoever exists in the weaving of our fabric.
de Tocqueville, a bright traveler sent by his government in 1831 to study American prisons, personally expanded his observations. After considerable travel in American cities and villages, he said rather prophetically:
Americans will be free only as long as they continue to be "good."
Now, great minds have contemplated the meaning of de Toqueville's "good" for more than two generations. In the first instance, we all knew that he was referring to Christian Golden Rules found in McGuffy's reader, the only teaching tool available at the time in the one-room school houses.
That explains why I have become so fanatical about sources and definitions. You see, about this same time, the Ivy League Universities were being built; and to my consternation great minds like Will James, Pierce, Hawthorne, Emerson and Oliver Wendell Holmes decided that the human psyche was explainable in the chemistry lab. Here came pragmatisim, dialectical materialism, existentialism and phenomenology. And That's ludicrously simplistic of me as well as too comprehensive, but you understand the need for hyperbole.
Our constitution is dependent upon that mysteriously "good" American mentality; and that statement, uttered these days, usually starts a bloody street brawl.
Our constitution was "loosely" written by men who understood both the necessities and the risks. Pray that the risks have not conquered us. Accepting those inherent risks in freedom left incredible holes and cracks through which the authoritarians could seep. Only that "good" in the American psyche sustained the freedom embodied in that document.
We are all too energized, empowered and dependent upon the "sin tax."

Amending the Constitution
One thing Cindy is this: if one wants to amend the Const. nowadays, the leftist kooks want to have a completely new, all new Constitutional Convention. Yes. That would open the entire ball of wax . It is so difficult to amend the Const. and especially now with liberals in charge of the Leg, Ex. and almost the Judicial branches. 2/3 or 3/4 et al make it very hard indeed. Just getting one amendment through, say on stopping immediate citizenship for babies of illegals born here, would throw the process into a loop. I wish it were not so but there it is.

Cindy, you may already be aware
But there is already a move afoot to call a Constitutional Convention. Rackoons referred to it in his comment. I wrote a piece about it, but never posted it in Pesky Truth. Here is a small part of the piece:
“Thirty-two states have already taken the vote and Ohio is considering voting to call a convention. Only one more state must vote affirmatively in order to call a constitutional convention.
What is a constitutional convention and why is it important?
A constitutional convention is a gathering for the purpose of writing a new constitution or revising an existing constitution. A general constitutional convention is called to create the first constitution of a political unit or to entirely replace an existing constitution. An unlimited constitutional convention is called to revise an existing constitution to the extent that it deems to be proper.
Article V of the constitution sets forth a mechanism whereby future constitutional conventions can be held. The constitution has been amended several times since the Philadelphia Convention, but never by this method.”
I can’t believe that there has been so little written about this. True, it will take some time for a Con Con and ratification, but now the liberals have power and no doubt feel that if they could control the agenda, they’d be assured of “updating” the Constitution to better reflect their “values.” This is scary ...

Hi Cindy
Say, have you considered writing something up relative to the preamble to the 'bill of rights?'
We may disagree, but when that preamble is added, it changes to context for the first 10 amendments. It is a personal pet peeve of mine that the national government has bastardized (sorry for the language) the meaning of the 'bill of rights.'

Thanks for the links, I appreciate the information. Isn't it funny that Obama and Biden are just sitting in their big offices without a care in the world!
There is more than meets the eye with those two, and I can feel it. If you have ever gone to DailyKos.com you will see that last year all they talked about was a new world way of thinking.
If you read that I was kicked off of their website, that was within one hour of logging onto their site. Of course that was after I was threatened to be killed, etc. Nice way for the liberal way of thinking, of course Obama was a key contributor to them.

Yep. And we are a house divided.
Ive never seen it more divided in my 72 years. It isn't only divided, swords are drawn figuratively. Anger and hatred are rife. Liberals are rabid in their animosity while conservatives, to too large a degree, are too polite to stand up and get involved. It's like pulling a train uphill to get them in gear. We'd better be alert. The new administration is going to attemt a re-do of our Constitution and if we don't stand our ground, America wil become a Country we don't even recognize. We'd better wake up, get up, stand up and speak up or we're gonna be toast.
Good work cindy.
