Bueller? Bueller?

Randomly found this site, not a lot of activity in here. Too bad, it's always good for more people to participate in active debate.

I'm a moderate, independent. At this stage of our once great country, I wouldn't be caught dead belonging to either of these sorry political parties. I consider myself an indendepent minded, centrist, populist.

I completely agree with the illegal alien opinion. Although most of the mexican people trying to get across our borders are no doubt good people who simply want to find a better life for themselves and their families, the simple fact of the matter is that our system does not have unlimited resources and the strain on our health care and education systems is nearing a breaking point. We need to secure the border first and then worry about what to do with the people who are already here. The so-called "Great Compromise" bill is more aptly titled the "Shamnesty" bill, as it is simply a way for the Republican party to pander to corporations who want a cheap labor source and for the Democratic party to pander to the latino vote. It's a joke and it needs to be stopped. If we had a President who wasn't completely sold out to corporate interests he would put forth an emergency appropriations bill to fund the $4 billion 850+ mile fence. This should be taken care of first and foremost. Does the American public have any reason to think this President or this do-nothing Congress can and will do the right thing? Nope.

On the other hand, I completely disagree with the point about "terror" and "terrorists" on every corner, threatening all our lives, etc.... All of that is just getting old and is really starting to sound like a bunch of scare-tactics to further justify a failed foreign policy that has made us less safe in the world by lowering our political clout with allies while emboldening the recruitment efforts of our terrorist enemies. I mean really, why on earth would the average person in small-town, USA need to be afraid of some terrorist blowing up the local Wal-Mart? That's just idiotic.

The legacy of this President is simply mind-numbingly bad. At last count he has not made one, single, "good" or "right" decision since he has been in office from what I can tell. Every single last decision he has made has been wrong and many of them disastrous. So, on that score, I agree with the overall spirit of this blog entry.

We definitely need to figure out a way to take back America from the corporate robber barons who have taken over the White house. Simple as that.

With continued hope,

H.M. Johnson

Thanks for your comments.

I agree with most of your comment but, I believe that I must respond to your terrorist notes.

"I mean really, why on earth would the average person in small-town, USA need to be afraid of some terrorist blowing up the local Wal-Mart? That's just idiotic."

I agree that the local Wal-Mart in small-town, USA would not be a target. The problem is that those who wish to do us harm work out of many of these small towns and work to become members of these communities.

Thier targets are not local, but national. Terrorists are fully aware of what is takes to cripple our nation's transportation systems, energy systems, financial systems, agriculture and waterways. American's need to look at the whole picture when evaluating target threats.

And yes, terrorists are living here and planning each and every day the next attacks. Are they on every street corner? Maybe not, but they are watching, learning and planning around the critical areas that could and would have a very drastic negitive effect on our nation as a whole. This is a proven fact.

It is the responsibility of every American to report suspicious activity, even if it is small-town, USA.
