Thanx for the great follow-up to Minuteman's blog. Also appreciate the link. All of these things take time and that is one thing we are not very good at in this country any more -- evaluations in the context of time.
You pose some very thoughtful Qs at the end of your post and they are appreciated. Will consider them carefully as I compose my next letter.

I hope you’re right! But undoing a social welfare state has yet to be done. I think there’s a critical mass point that once reached cannot be overcome without extreme measures.

We are inching closer and closer to Socialism, a little at a time. It is the "progressive" thinking folks who believe it to be good and proper to tear down successful people in order to bring up those with less drive. It's a mindset that seems so wonderful - we should all share all of the rewards, nevermind some who chose not to work as hard - after all, why work your butt off if you get no more than those who do nothing? It's a failed system and would fail here if it is ever fully implemented. God forbid that ever happens.

The UN, the successor to the League of Nations, was created 61 years ago in the wake of WWII for a noble cause. Unfortunately, the organization has morphed into a self-licking ice-cream cone and liberal bastion of decay. I doubt the original founders would recognize it today.

There can be doubt about the liberal democrat agenda. They’ll redefine the term “socialism” for public consumption, or invent a new vernacular the ignorant masses will accept. For example “choice” sounds so much nicer than abortion.
Socialism in their eyes is not failure...quite the opposite. It does work. But only when the people willingly cede individual liberty for near absolute government control.

socialism is indeed occuring,
but not so slowly anymore. Not since Jan 21st. It seems to be going at a very rapid pace to me. Every single day King Obama does something to drag us closer. Better fasten our seatbelts and hold on tight. Either that....or DO something, if we can just figure out WHAT.

Beat the drum loudly and often until the silent majority joins the chorus. Hence the Dem’s effort to reinstate the so called Fairness doctrine.

The info is out there, we just need to get it in front of enough rational thinking people. It's the antidote to the poison being fed to young American minds.

I only disagree with you on one notion, and that is that traditional thinkers are outnumbered. I believe this last election showed that Republicans were not performing, more than people turning to the democrat way of thinking. I have faith that Republicans will find a way to kick those "democrat lites" from their party and move back conservative. Whenever they go conservative they win, so they must try. Other than that, the goal of democrats is just as you stated. Im a bit more optimistic on the resistance.

I hope you’re right, but don’t share your optimism.
Even if the republicans take back the house and senate and eventually the White House, universal healthcare like social security will not be undone. Nor will the trillions in debt and nationalized manufacturing and financial entities. And when amnesty is passed, 15 to 20 million new dem voters and their extended families will all be selling their votes for handouts, like so many complacent Americans now do.
Obama will tip the scales by offering his utopian dream to the naive and buying the rest with entitlements. The only way I see a return to limited government, traditional values, and the enforcement of the constitution, is through nonstandard measures such as succession, revolution, or both.
Thanks for stopping by.
