My sincere condolances for your loss.

You make some very astute observations in your post, but these latest numbers actually reflect something more troubling than demographic shifts.

For months now some of the highest concentration of losses have been in construction, trucking, and finacial services. This indicates that the triple whammy of the mortage crisis, the credit crunch, and gasoline prices have become additional stressors on a job market already facing a major generational shift.
