Comment on: Dave's Take

The Sarah Palin VP Selection Gambit

Amen, Dave !

Couldn't agree more. The smear mongers are just getting started...and Stalinist tactics are now in play to be seen by all who aren't looking through "liberal glasses". It's not about discussing honest differences of opinion, rather DESTROYING your political enemy. Pathetic.

Great analysis!

I get the feeling that some of my conservative friends here have gotten themselves into a position where they want a McCain loss so they can show how powerful the conservative base of the GOP is. I personally do not like McCain and probably won't vote for him, but it isn't so I can scream "I told you so" after the election is over.

As for the article, I think that no matter who McCain chose, some conservatives were goingt o find fault with it. They were screaming about McCain needing to pick a conservative, so when he does the problem becomes that she doesn't have enough experience. But you can give me the person who has actually run a state over some cat that has spent his entire adult life casting votes with his congressional buddies any day of the week.

I have a couple of posts at my blog that touch on the same topic. I'd be interested in having you check them out and tell me what you think.

Jeff

Thank you. Democrats believe in the "scorched earth" concept. They either win, or work to destroy America. It is "elect me, or pay the consequences!" I believe the best thing is to immediately root out all the people in positions of power with this philosophy. It is the same in business. You can't appease these people, and it will only get worse. When Republicans lose, conservatives make the best of it and wait for the next election. When Democrats lose, the liberals and Marxists work to ensure nothing works. It bothers me that even the Republicans have isolated themselves from President Bush. They look for creidit for themselves, while minimizing the fortitude of President Bush. I think that is a mistake. President Bush has made many mistakes and done things I disagree with. But the economy is doing well, the war is being won and we have not been attacked again. I am sure we could have done better in many areas, but we sure could have done a lot worse. He displayed real leadership during a time when few would have wanted that responsibility. He deserves our thanks, not our scorn. He deserves an honorable exit. There were too many cowardly Republicans at the Republican convention in this regard. They were so worried about being tagged as providing another Bush presidency that they threw him under the bus for political expediency. That offends me. Feel free to bring up his shortcomings, but his accomplishments deserve better than excommunicating him to appease those running and the biased media. I prefer honesty over political correctness.
