KEEP OUR QUALITY OF LIFE. LETS ALL VOTE NO ON MEASURE H.

It's Personal

Mark - your post and what you have written, includes reasons to oppose Measure H...

Most of the reasons are personal if you read this post.

IT has to me more than just a desire to stick it to the Rocklin City Council...

Vote No On Measure H

Aaron, my confused friend, the Rocklin City Council is the one that approved the development of Clover Valley. I have a two-fold message. First you defeat Measure H and then you work to elect council members that put the interests of Rocklin ahead of their political career.

The city council is putting out information that is false and misleading to the voters. That is why I have made them an issue in my posts.

No on H-Republican Conservation Values

Forget the developer’s dishonest signs, misleading messages, probable vandalizing of their own signs in a despicable, hysterical and frantic attempt to demonize the NO on H folks. The good news is that voters are not being duped--are not falling for the lies. The bad news is that the devs have directed their slimy mouthpiece to spit out more verbal venom.
Can you imagine how the Buzz Oates partners feel? With one of the richest casino tribes in the U.S. on their side, their own billion-plus dollar wealth, and a city council that is bought and paid for, still they can’t get their way and bulldoze Clover Valley. Talk about frustration!
The truth is that true Republican values embrace conservation on all levels. Most know that Clover Valley is extremely rare with its concentration of resources. It has never lent itself to development (it’s why all the “deals” fell through in the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s). The best use of Clover Valley would be as a historic nature preserve bringing in clean tourist dollars, and leaving the valley as it is. Only a conservative will be able to see the value in saving it. Vote NO on H; kill this horrible project and send a “get-out-of-office” message to the city council as well.

Keep our quality of life? Oh, Please ~

Do you think you house magically appeared? Come on, you have to be smart enough to know that some trees had to go and some bulldozers had to be brought in. But that is so far from the point. The point is this: It is NOT your land. Stop trying to tell others what to do with it.

Katie says this.."The best use of Clover Valley would be as a historic nature preserve bringing in clean tourist dollars, and leaving the valley as it is. Only a conservative will be able to see the value in saving it" Then i say to Katie if thats what you want then you buy it and foot the bill. Because you don't own it now and why should you get a say in what happens there.

Vote responsibly and vote Yes on Measure H ~ one day it could be you and your land that the voters are trying to control.

My property rights?

I purchased my home in Stanford Ranch - in 1991 (new construction). The zoning and 'master plan' had a majority of commercial/light industrial NOT residential.

The 'plan' was changed to accomodate more residential as home prices increased.

Then, the city built an elementary school at the end of my street - which was not on 'the plan'.

THEN they decide that our residential street would be the main entrandce for the school.... DESPITE the fact that there was an intersection with a signal directly on Park Ave. - which would be the logical/safe school entrance.

Our neighborhood went to court - and lost. Now we aren't able to back out of our own driveways. People speed constantly, and I'm afraid of a child or pet being hit. Keep in mind, our street is 2 blocks long !

Now they want to make Park a thoroughfare between Hwy 65 and Hwy 80 !?!

I'm not anti-development, but I do feel betrayed. Re-zoning, resetting plans to bring in more $ from the developers is wrong. We need(ed) long term plans that are(were) set in stone:

* Developers wouldn't be rolling the dice on plans being approved.

* Home buyers wouldn't be duped into thinking that the 'master plan' would be reality.

* Schools/fire departments/etc. would not be over/under-built (look at Natomas) as property taxes would be more consistent.

BTW, I'm a 40 yr resident of Placer County and a 4th generation Californian.
