Uphill for Hillary: Dynasty in America

Since 10/16/06...

Gosh a lot has happened since you wrote this, huh? I felt the same as you back on 10/16. But that was before the 2 super phenom's: 1) 11/7 and 2) Barak Obama. I think Obama strengthens your position. But before him I was beginning to think Hillary was a shoe in through 2016. I mean 11/7 was devastating for the GOP in my view. Or was it? At least by happening now we have 2 years to get the dysfunctional GOP house in order. If thats possible in such a short time.
Well nicely written piece. If you get time visit my blog. I've got a new opinion article on the Entertainment Value of the Dems. I'm not nearly the talented writer as you but maybe you'd enjoy it. If you have time. DD

up & hill ...

would be two separate words -- now, 1/20/07.
As a remiinder, it is nice to look back. I think the uphill though is changing grade downward in Jan 07. The kicker is that she knew this even when running, and NY went for her anyhow. Hills may be getting smaller."Up" can be for the pollsters. Lets not dismiss her up's in ability to raise funds, the necessary ingredient.

Two things.

I'm not questioning her ability to lull the lefties. She'll get the funds she needs to get the Dem nomination. She'll have an adoring media kissing her meaty ankles. Of this I have little doubt. But the general election will prove highly problematic for her, based largely on her dynastic connections. It hasn't been raised as an issue yet, but it will once the Dums give her the nod.

errr..Guess that was just one thing

I had changed the post but not the header.

Pride In Meritocracy

How could you write such dribble. The great unwashed in this country does not vote on merit but on names. How else can you explain all the Bushes in state houses and Washington, movie stars and sports stars headlining the Republican Party.

What degree of merit for running government and leading society is gained by being a movie actor, football player, or your daddy's son. Because of this phenom some one predicted years ago that some day all of our leaders will be "glamorati" not well spoken, educated, erudite, people. The most meritorious man to ever run for the White House was Adlai Stevenson.

The Democrats might hang out with Hollywood but the Republicans actualky have the audacity, gall, and yes the effrontery to put them into public office.

You COMPLETELY missed the point

Typical of most unhinged Dems, you completely missed my point. It was not to say that Madame Hillary is worse than the Bushes ( or those who support the Bush Dynasty). It is that this sort of Dynastic push for concentrated power is anti-American, antithetical to the American Democratic ideal, and ativistic. It is, essentially, a throwback to monarchy, and it should be rejected by both parties and all thinking Americans.
