If It's War They Want...

To Be Fair

There have been right wingers from time to time who have resorted to violence. Certain pro-life advocates come to mind.

The difference though is that they tend to be single individuals who are loudly condemned by their ideological allies, while the lefties who commit violence never seem to face any significant attention or condemnation by their allies.

I liked your post.

John Caile

You sir are right on as usual. And as for GFC Man, John isn't talking about the rare mentally ill bomber or shooter identified by the mainstream media as conservative because they claim to be Christians, he's speaking of the new mainstream of liberal left politics and media who operate in high profile positions speaking the most vile hate speech and inciting actual violence at ordinary events like elections, conventions, or in board rooms, and at public gatherings, AGAINST conservative people who have never done the same to them and who do not endorse violence against any American.

GFC Man and AfterShock

You are both correct - I do not contend that those on the right never engage in hate-filled rhetoric, nor in violence, only that, as AfterShock points out, it is a rare occurrence by a small number of outliers, not part and parcel of the conservative mainstream. More importantly, it is invariably condemned by true conservatives.

On the Left, however, hateful rhetoric is not only the norm, it is practiced at the highest levels - and as you both point out, seldom results in any significant penalty, neither legal nor political.

AfterShock

Did you read my second paragraph? I said the same thing you are.

I made the point I did because the left will counter with that argument. It is important in a debate to acknowledge the opposing argument and show its flaws rather than pretending it doesn't exist.

If you hide from the other argumnet, it makes you look weaker. Both sides have people who resort to violence. That we can admit. The comparison between the two sides is flawed though because the left supports the violence to a much greater degree than the right. The right condemns it while the left often embraces it or refuses to condemn it.

Right wingers

I agree with you generally, however I object, GFC Man, to the categorization of such mentally ill "violent" people as "right wing". Right wing is associated with conservatism. Hitler was considered "Right Wing" yet was a socialist/fascist not a conservative. The Taliban is considered right wing, however they share nothing in common with our conservatism i.e. life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. A person that commits violence under the guise of being pro-life is neither a right wing conservative nor pro-life. They are simply very sick people.

AfterShock

Good points - the Left has carefully and relentlessly used the Hitler and Nazi associations to redefine "right-wing" to mean essentially "evil" or "fascistic" - then applying the term to anyone who disagrees with liberal policies.

Excellent posting

The liberal mentality is purely hypocritical. They condemn violence yet they resort to violence in their endeavor.
