FromTop to Bottom
As you state the obvious truths of a culture that is convinced it has to have more, regardless of who gets in their way; another truth makes itself painfully present. The truth of a values structure that is no longer prevalent in every day life. This is visible as you look from the top to the bottom of the people who make up this country, from the CEO's to the poor working stiff who just wants to get by. All for themselves; caring for little else.Jackie's mere mention of someone who was looked upon at the time as the lowest form of mankind taking their time and resources to sacrafically care for another is a forgotten concept in today's world. Only sin could be the real driving force of this type of self serving peoples. The sin of covetness ie. Greed. Even more possibly the sin of worshiping a false and man made God; Money.

Manna-Feast how right you are!
I am tired of the people who are selfish at every level, from the corporate cretan, who tries to put his competition out of business by undercutting them, by taking advantage of importers from foreign countries, who have to cut their price so low that the foreign manufacturers are tempted to cut corners and use dangerous or poor quality materials just stay in business, to the corporation that doesn't care that their supplier is using child labor, to the fools on the other end that live on the government dole, try to get rich quick and lose everything in the process, to the people who lie and cheat in order to get food stamps to the kids who cheat on exams and shoplift from stores, and then answer politively to pollsters when asked about their self esteem, to the very people who would carelessly trample a Good Samaritan to death and keep on running to grab the best deal before their neighbor does.
This is a toxic situation, that can only be cured by revival.
