Yeah, that was a nice jab. My jaw's still a little sore!
I probably deserved it, but I was really just defending Clarence Thomas--who (to the best of my knowledge) coined--or at least popularized--"hi-tech lynching."
Not much activity on Petey Wirs' latest RINO-dropping. His sock pockets have been notably MIA. I wonder what's up.
I miss the fireworks . . .

This is a GREAT idea.
Who would fund it, though?
It would need either a sugar-daddy to staff it, or a group of like-minded folks to channel their energies.
I think it would be too much for one person to do on the side (hence my query about funding it).
Wonderful idea, though. Definitely merits more thought.

It could be called ....
"What you don't see". There was a French economist (I think; haven't looked it up.) who wrote in response to the media and government press releases pointing out the fruits of government spending; e.g., "Twelve new cruisers join the French Navy today!". He would write, "But, what you don't see are the 16,000 jobs not created because of the 2,500,000 francs removed from the French economy in taxes to pay for those 12 new cruisers. What you don't see are the 35,000 children whose parents are begging to provide food for them, because they lost their jobs and no business can afford to hire the." etc, etc. Rather like what Countryman proposes.
How could that be done? What is needed? First, a copy of every bill proposed by either house of Congress. Second, the time to sort through them to decide which were important enough to write about. One could use the MSM for that, but often there is no fanfare about a bill of considerable importance, so one must look at them. Third, the time to read the important ones. Fourth, some expertise in various areas in order to decipher the consequences and analyze the costs. Fifth, time and resources for reseach for background if required. Sixth, someone to write about the "stinkers" in a way that captures the issues and the readers.
How much of that can we do or find folks to do and how much - and what - must be farmed out? I agree with Countryman; there must be a constant counter to the propaganda supporting the government's largess, otherwise limited government advocates may as well retire and go sit in the sun at some (government?) nursing home.

Oh, I forgot ....
As far as publishing them on the 'Net, I have two domains already registered and have been looking for a hosting service anyway. And I'm willing and able to pay for the hosting, etc, up to some reasonable limit and play webmaster to the site.

Very interesting, even intriguing.
Let me email you privately to discuss this.
Countryman may be interested as well.
Very, very good idea. There must be a place that advertises the grease, rather than just the gravy.
How about "www.greaseorgravy.com" as a domain name?
Just a thought.

Something that may aid your efforts. Ever heard of Ballotpedia??

They are supposed to have info on ballot initiatives all over the country…
Some of their info looks a little old, though.
