Shari Established in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province

Just what we need in this world! I can't imagine it would get past the whole govt. But there is nothing we can do about it and what is wrong with Pakistan that their govt. would take this foolish step? Fear?

Great fear, fear that their citizens will go into total revolt unless the secular government gives in to the Radical Islamic movement.

The US's worrry has to be Pakistan's nukes. The secular government would not use them for fear of instant annilation.

But the Radicals? Who knows?

But also India must be concerned with their Nukes. First, because of the 60 year history of dispute between the two, but also because much of modern India was once under Muslim domination and part of the code of these groups in once Muslim always Muslim. India, Spain, Hungary, Southern France, be ready...I have no doubt that if Israel ever goes under these former provinces of the Caliphate are next on the agenda.

You present an interesting observation about India. Even though the Radical Islamic movement despises Christians and Jews; they recognize a certain "kinship" to them and say that Jesus was a prophet, also Abraham.

India is another "ball game".

If Pakistan becomes completely "shari", I imagine the Mullahs will start looking at their next door neighbor with a eye to the use of these nukes.

The Birchers had it figured out long ago.

It's just the ol' "Salami Theory" all over.

What is the "salami theory"?

I am afraid I don't know that one.

Back in the day of the John Birch Society the same problems existed as today. I believe either Gunny or C-Fish referred to it as "incrementalism".

The Birchers called the Russians and Red China brands of communism "The Salami Theory". wherein the communists would step just so far but not far enough for the West to go to war for their transgressions. The Birchers likened it to someone taking a knife and slicing off a thin slice of your salami and saying, "But such a thin slice, now that's not enough to fight over, is it?" And you think, "well, you know, I still have almost a whole stick of salami, so, no that was not enough to fight over." So you let the thief get away. But soon he is back and he takes another ever so thin slice of salami and he says the same thing and you go along again and this happens until you have no more salami.

Are there any Birchers left out there now???
