Analysis of Presidential Speech – Feb. 24, 2009

Where to begin...
BHO has retracted to his 'preacher' style of influence --
'gathered here' 'called to govern' 'shape our world', and 'not because I believe'
His economic statements are just flat out lies, sorry, not a 'nicer' way to put it.
What stood out to me as I read transcripts (couldn't watch it...) was his usage of 'I' --
in some instances it had a dictatorship like inflection.
Good Job , AL. Did you need any Pepto after completing your reading and anlysis?
It is going to be a long 4 years, unless some big scandal/or uncovering is revealed.

Like you I can't watch this guy. Jen is right. The guy is an incredible liar that's in love with himself...It doesn't matter what he says..all he is doing is soothing/seducing the public to trust him while he's cutting their throat.

the exact words our narcissist King utters because I believe none of them. I'm dismayed at the fawning over his "eleoquent" speeches, and that includes the republicans who fall all over themselves to praise his articulation. What good are a liars words, even if spoken in hypnotic style? A speech without honesty and substance is nothing more than blather.
Bobby Jindal was blasted for his speech. It may not have been sparkling in style, but it made sense and I believe he's sincere be cause he walks the walk in his state of Louisiana.
Barack Hussein Obama is one scary dude. I don't believe he's the anti-Christ, because there is still unfulfilled prophesy, but he's doing a fine job of a dress rehersal of the coming beast. God help us.

Drop by. Well, not one word on illegal immigration. Not a word using the word, Islamofascist terror, terrorists. Two short sentences on Social Security. Nothing to deal with Medicare. Not a word on nuclear energy, offshore drilling. It is what he left out that is as scary as what he pontificated about and Oh, yes, nothing about how to pay for this except to tax those over $250,.000. Did you know that 1% in America pay 40% of our Budget?? So who is going to foot this unbelievable bill? Kids and grandkids.

Good Speech Analysis
I love the way you broke it down...and appreciate the word count.
I agree with the other commenters. Obama wants to use his will to force his choices on us. From how we educate our kids, to where and when we choose to serve our communities.
The beauty of America's system of government, as created by our Founding Fathers, is that they recognized the most fundamental gift that God gave to us...our free will. No, Barack, we don't HAVE to go to college. No, Barack, we don't HAVE to enjoy paying taxes so that you can give it to your minions.
We don't even HAVE to be responsible adults, though we should have to pay the consequences.
But that's the trade-off, isn't it. Obama is making a pact with America: He will take away the pain of consequences in our lives, in exchange for supplanting God's gift of free will, with Obama's own will. No responsibilities, but no freedom. What a bargain.
That is fascism, communism, statism, & authoritarianism.

Thanx for stopping by and commenting. If I had the computer prowess and capablility, I could have done an entire analysis of "I". Indeed, the inflection has a dictatorial implication.
Actually, I had a pounding headache after anlyzinz this speech. I took some aspirin and went to bed.
Thanx again for commenting. Hope those who stop by have seen you and Glenn's posts. Time to "march on."

Agreed, Bobbie. What we seem to be missing any more is objective analysis and willingness to be blunt about what is happening. Thank goodness you are willing to do just that.

I agree, what is left out is often more significant than what is said. What kind of ticked me off was the token appreciation to those in our armed forces. Another bit of analysis I did not include here.

good analysis
This speech was again full of contradictions. He is still trying to have it both ways, and I don't see him stopping that. He doesn't believe in bigger government? I don't even think there's a democrat that believes him on that one. They're not only talking about nationalizing everything, but internationalizing everything now. PM Gordon Brown wants us to find an "international solution" to the financial problems. He's not some nutty kook like Ahmadinejad where it might make you say "there goes Brown rabidly foaming at the mouth again". What Brown says should make people to start thinking, "here comes the NWO". New post up.

I don't think you sound like a broken record. At this point, I don't think I have the patience part any longer.
This President is making policy and trying to sell us a bill of goods on a daily basis. His constant 'press conferences' and 'announcements' are beginning to resemble what I have heard called the 'chavez' factor. I could be wrong but ...
Thanx so much for stopping by. I will ponder your advice. Thanx.

I am sure I am in the minority, but I don't see stark differences any longer between Brown, Ahmadinernut, etc. The NWO theme has been brewing for years and years. Even longer than I have been alive (and that's saying something haha). What a lot of people don't seem to think about is, 'who does it benefit?'

Just because someone is an "eloquent" speaker, doesn't mean their content is great. I know some people who are brilliant, yet could not speak in public if their life depended on it. Now Obama's speech, well, you already said it, not great content and/or half truths. I wonder if more people will realize this in the future. Great post.

Thanx for your comments. You are right on point. Unfortunately, emotion is quite often more powerful than reason. We are in an emotional-laden situation here and this particular President knows how to take advantage of it (like most lawyers -- sorry to all you lawyers, but that is what I believe, having done work with them in the past).
I did enjoy your post very much, Eric. Thanx again for popping in.

How do you do this? You obviously have great "intestinal" fortitude, Mrs. AL! We started to watch the schpeel but tuned out after about 5 minutes.
It appears to me to be the beginning of Reparations. "The Times of London", posted at RealClearPolitics today, had a rather scathing piece re pbho. One of the comments, a woman from NY, wrote that it is all over for the top 2%, the government will now be in the hands of the "people". The black community has been indoctrinated to never ever forget even though "history has been made with the election of the first black present".
Now pbho is in high gear, spreading the wealth and living the vida loca in the WH. The rest of us will soon be living "Dr. Zhivago Revisited". Well done, Mrs. AL!

All I could think about...
All I could think about was this joke.
This man is driving down the road when he sees a sign that says "Talking Dog Free"
He stops and sees a man on the porch to whom he inquires about the dog. The man says, "Dog's tied up out back". He proceeds to the back yard and there is the dog. The man ask,"Can you really talk?" The dog says "YEP!" He replies, "That's incredible!". The dog says "I'll tell you incredible" I started out working for the police. I'd lay on the floor and do surveillance for drug deals, they the FBI recruited me, before I knew it I was working under cover for the CIA and that ain't the half of it......" The man is floored, he runs around to the front of the house and says to the man on the porch, "That's the most incredible thing I've seen in my life! Why are you giving him away for free?" He replies, "Cause the dogs a liar! He aint never done none of that stuff!"
