Congress At War With America

Well stated, very well stated.

We need change. Change of members of congress. A total purge and election of non-politicians.

That's the first change. The second is to unify the voters under the banner of reclaiming America. We all, ALL, know where our problems originate. We all want the same things. We want our American way of life restored. We can do it by ceasing the war started and pushed on by the MSM between common American folks.
there is no big difference in dems and reps when you take the media and politicians out of the picture. Just Americans, sick to death of a corrupt congress full of crooked lawyers.

Great post.

A Matter of National Defense

Your observations are right on target. This is not only about our wallet but more than that, our very way of life. You probably noticed, but on the day that Bush lifted the executive order on drilling, Harry Reid came out and suggested the president could solve our problem by using the strategic fuel reserve because he argued that this is an emergency. The problem with this type of thinking is manifold, but more than that, it is exceedingly dangerous. It's Ok to tap into the reserve if we anticipate a short spike in oil, but to use it when there are no long term solutions is insane. As long as we don't drill and don't build refineries, we will continue to pay higher and higher prices. If we constantly use our strategic reserves to offset the supply problems we will eventually exhaust our only capacity for responding in the case of a real emergency. The only answer to this problem at the present is to drill and if we as Americans put our minds to it, not only will we prosper but we will less dependent on Iran, Chavez and Putin. Unfortunately, we are being led by the dysfunctional congress and the press is buying their line without the slightest of critical scrutiny.

Burn baby - burn.

But if the liberals wont let us drill oil to keep our families warm in the winter, or to produce hot water in our homes, then, as for me and my house - we will burn wood. Wood, my friends, is the answer. We have more trees growing in our nation now than when Lou and the C man went on their hike, so don't give me the whole “for the good of the environment” crap. If we plant trees after we cut them down we won't run out of trees so there will never be a shortage. The human race could be warm and comfortable indefinitely.

Then no one will be able to scare us because, there may or may not be, a shortage of fuel prospects. Some earthy crunchy dude will say, “But we're running out of trees.” And than I can say, “Relax bro, we all just planted five. Now pull up a log and roast a marshmallow with the rest of us.”

Plus cutting and planting trees is good workout, a great way to enjoy nature,it is also a deep philosophical and practical exercise in reaping what you sow. (A good lesson to pass on to your young children as cutting wood can be added to the list of chores.) Now that I think of it it's also good for the nations economy, because people can cut down fire wood to sell. So instead of giving money to the Arabs (who oddly enough want us all dead) we'll be giving money to the guy (or gal) down the street who want to keep us very much alive, so we can come back next season and buy more firewood. Everybody wins.
