The Fish That Ate Los Angeles

Isnt it part of Mexico now? Its hard to tell.

Skep, about Mexico....

I've never been to California, so I can't speak with any real authority. But I don't think Mexico could afford the real estate prices or the taxes.

Dave

Plenty of them do! Taxes are higher in Mexico and if you're in business you have to pay 'mordidas' (little bites) to every official who turns up with his hand out. Mexicans are basically really nice, friendly, family oriented people unless they have on a suit and tie or a uniform. Any country where they understand that beer should be kept at near the freezing point so that when you pop the cap you get a few tiny shards of ice as you take that first satisfying swig, and furthermore has learned to harmonize the accordion and the tuba in the same band is a cultural titan, not to be sneered at!

Its too bad we can't just shout this from the rooftops and the idiots around the country would listen. People research politics like its a commercial on TV. 15 seconds and their done. Gosh our country is floundering.

Skep41 "...and furthermore has learned to harmonize the accordion and the tuba in the same band is a cultural titan, not to be sneered at!"

Brilliant!

Excellent writing and analysis. Thanks Skep

Gee Whiz, skep41...

Where were you between 1978 and 1981. I was working for TVA when the snail darter almost shut down the Tellico Dam on the Little Tennesssee River. I was also involved in the legal actions.

You just have to remember that to Liberals, animals are more important than people.

PS: I agree with you on average Mexicans: "Any country where they understand that beer should be kept at near the freezing point so that when you pop the cap you get a few tiny shards of ice as you take that first satisfying swig, and furthermore has learned to harmonize the accordion and the tuba in the same band is a cultural titan, not to be sneered at!"

I don't get this science thingy....

How much water can these fish possibly drink that they require a whole river?

These fish are obviously right-wingers who believe that they are entitled to huge living spaces, in fact, all the animal species live in gigantic spaces called habitat. Have you seen the tiny habitats Jimma the Peanut builds for humans?

These fish don't get the concept of sharing and using only their fair share of the bounty of Gaia. Who do they think they are Al Gore?

skep

plenty of scary stories from our company's rep who goes to Mexico city. Lot's of private armed guards on the street with AK's, and you've got to watch where a cab driver may want to take you......the bandidos are just around the corner waiting, or the Federales or policemen who pull you over for the bribe, you'd better have enough.....

CK

Its amazing. There are no media sources that are getting this out to a large audience. I think as rationing draws closer local talk radio will start pushing this. Its a tough sell. In LA and SF liberalism is the default political position for the uninvolved.Maybe if things get bad enough...

Ken!

Thanks! I always think of Don Knotts when I see old shots of The Governator.

Ghost

I can think of a thousand of these thinks. The lark habitat that caused Laguna Beach to be burned to the ground, etc. There will be a point where all this stuff is questioned. There has to be. "No lie lives forever," said Lincoln. Lets hope he's right.

Sarge

They could probably build a fish habitat that would conserve the species but that would take a budget appropriation in a budget that's already headed for bankruptcy. Better to do nothing and blame the bankruptcy on Bush.

Dave

Yeah. TJ, just across the border has been having a war between the Federales and the Army. Its a shame. I havent been down to Mexico in four or five years. I've never been down to Mexico City. I've heard the same horror stories you're hearing. With $140 a barrel oil how can an oil exporting nation be in such miserable shape?

Skep, Mexico

is what a corrupt totalitarian regime (read Liberal Progressive Socialist) would end up like anywhere.....

Someone really needs

to tell these judges that keep on protecting animals over man that WE are more important, and if they want to sleep with the fishes, it can be arranged.

Craw

You're a traitor to your fellow fishes!
