Oh come now, Red. You are being altogether too logical here. What, the D.C. crowd actually do something in support of the U.S.A. and her founding principles.? (Sarcasm on display)
Great read and I will be checking in from time to time to read more!

Good article. As one Redneck to another, good job.
American Rednecks are the only thing that keeps this country running year after year. As you say, being a Redneck is a philosophy not a racial label. I am White, but I have had many Black, Brown and Yellow Redneck friends over the years. Its whats in the heart and mind that counts in the final tally.
Happy New Year to you and yours.

Where it comes from
I read your page and am sure that you'll agree that TX was settled by people from GA, TN and the Carolinas, the places that my people are from. I am for God, country and the American way of life. My people served back to the Civil War and are serving now in AFghn. I have lived in too many places, seen too much worldly hatred and beauty to bind me to a particular class.
Not to offend but I see no point in being prideful in what a redneck means today. Maybe that is why so many work so hard to prove being a redneck is important. A self professed redneck shines no brighter that a self important black man who wants every one to know that he is 'somebody'. Having said that I would take an honest redneck (regular guy)over a Congressman any day. Remember Jesse Ventura? Not a raging success but put some people in their place for good and didnt do as much harm as some said he would.
I agree with you on border security, The drug situation in Mexico must end. In the coming years it will be a military issue for us. Radical Islam must die, Israel should survive, I recall a Rabi in my tree from the German side. I prefer conservatism to liberal but detest extremists on either side. The right becomes the left if it goes far enough. I hope that we have more in common than not. I really did like your comment about preferring a Mexican working for his family to a Muslim anyday. I have seen how the Mex can work. Shames many of the comfortable natives here.
Just in case you didnt know the term redneck comes from the coalfield wars in the Appalachians around 1920. A redneck was someone who wore a red handkerchief around their neck telling others that they were for the union.
Now when you see my handle you may understand my comments may take various positions and that I claim no ideology nor will I be pinned one. I am an Independent.

I know to a lot of people Redneck is negative term, but so much of the negativity is from how we are portayed in the movies and on TV. Just like how Christisns are portrayed as bumbling fools or nut jobs, believe me when I say I am for America and if it takes giving viewpoints that might offend some to wake up those who are sleeping on their watch then that is what I will do. I do not hold any anger or hatred against any group, but I do feel we need to do what is right for our coutry, our childern and our grandchildern. I would never suggest to anyone that violence is the answer to anything, even though sometimes that is what it takes, like Isreal is doing and what President Bush did in Afganistan aqnd Irag. All of us need to get their friends and neighbors to wake up and see what is happening in the country today. I think we probably do agree on many things.
