The RIGHT to bear arms?

The "Federalist" Papers and the "Anti-Federalist" Papers are pretty clear and agree on many points, one being the 2nd Amendment. Like you, I agree that no intelligent person could see this any way but the way SCOTUS ruled.

However, get prepared. The ant-gun crowd will start going into "overdrive" within the next 2 or 3 weeks. THEY HAVE TO GET RID OF OUR GUNS FOR 1 REASON: Our guns are the last line of self-defense against a federal government gone wild.

One more thing, if you get a chance stop by and read my article entitled "After Shocks: D.C. vs. Heller".

I think there is a consequence of this ruling that the Looney Left and the Liberal Elites will hate.

Well

reasoned thoughts there. I agree with you, and feel we should be able to carry military equivalent fire power. As for the comment that no reasonable person can refute this, you are again correct, but since when have Politicians and Liberal Elites been reasonable?

Hehe

Gray Ghost: I agree that anti-gun people will fight back, but I think this time around if they try, there could be consequences. I see too many people around that say nobody will take their guns. We'll see I guess.

Apollyon67: Yes, if they can skew it they will! Its too bad our founding fathers couldn't make a book describing in long wording what they meant because they probably thought. 'Who would try to remove something so simple as the right to bear arms?'

I'll Bear my bare Arms, always!

Okay, ya got me. I have to agree with your point of view on this. I do not and will not refute anyones right to own, build or defend his with the use of a firearm.
It was wisely written into our Contitution, our challenge to English Rule and our Bill of Rights. For `We the People,' as it was declared held forth `these truths to be self evident' That a free man has the right to protect his life, property, and freedom from harm or invassion of privacy.
But I feel it is not all of our Government, that wants us undefendable. Only sa small segment that believe they are decendants of tribal royalty and thus our superior.
Good post and column.

Thanks for coming to my blog.

I think more and more of our "elite" congressmen think they are of that type you speak of. They think they are higher than the rest of us. Many of the senators in congress have been in there for over !30 years! They don't think they are part of the people anymore. Just look at the DC gun ban, the congressmen could have guns still. Are they entitled to something everyone else is not? Laws like these would not be under scrutiny if we had term limits for everyone in congress as they would be joining us after their stay in DC.
