Even when McCain went back to DC for the bailout, I am sure his handlers restrained him. I thought McCain being who he was would have gone there swinging. But instead he was mocked. If anything at all the blame should be on the campaign staff. No candidate is really in control. It is the hired hands that run everything. They take what the candidate wants and mold the message to what they think the people want to hear. To fit a strategy. McCain being who he is was not allowed to be himself.
