Comment on: Common Sense Conservative

An Easter Enigma

Right on!

All a bunch of lying Liberals. But what gets me is that the general public seems 'Brain Dead' (as Gray Ghost mentioned.) Like the famous bunny, the Lying S.O.B's just keep going and going. I hope the info Crawfish posted about Hitlery makes Fox News every day and night. But I doubt it. The Klintons should be in jail, not government.

Goshawk

Sloth is a Plague on America in The 21st Century.

I'm surprised you didn't

include Hill's trip to Africa.

Georgetwin

First, it's good to have you back! Robertson was no real surprise since he has made a career out of marginalizing himself of late. Gingrich on the other hand is a real disappointment. I emailed him this morning to express my opinion that his position on AGW weakens all of his former credibility on the other issues and is an embarrassment to conservatives.

I unsubscribed to his newsletter shortly after.

WSOD. I wonder if this is pathogenic since it seems to made the leap from democrats to republicans.

Okay

Good essay, WSOD is a liberal trait.

But I've got to disagree with you on soccer!
In football you get 7 points for getting the ball across a 50 yard wide line. In soccer you only get one point for getting the ball across an 8 yard wide line! If football it can take 5 minutes to get from one end of the field to the other. In soccer it can happen in 5 seconds!
Basketball is played on a court 84x50 feet with 5 players. Soccer is played on a field 120x80 YARDS with 11 players!

You don't get the professional thugs in soccer, either. At least not as many, not yet.

VDaddy

Including all of Shrillary Cankleton's Lies would've crashed TH's servers.

Sgt Relic

GOP Leadership has SWERVED Leftward and therefore taken up Liberal Principles or Lack Thereof.

Redhead

My Opinion Only on soccer. I dated a cheerleader for an indoor soccer team a while back & that was a FAST GAME!

IMHO, The World Cup could bore a statue.

The Gathering

"Among them are Substance Abuse, Promiscuity, Infidelity, Cowardice and Lying. Truth be told, these things happen among Conservatives also."

I would hope so. We look forward to a lively Townhall Blogger gathering, after all.

Goshawk- Jail is too good for the Clints. Being told to drop the presidential run and told to skulk back to their his and her mansions to ponder their stained legacy is good enough for me. What fun to see the Democrats revile them, now let their lack of achievement and substance be torn apart by the cruel talons of history.

GT

I've got to go with on the soccer. While in Brazil I was invited to attend a match so I figure why not? Where exactly do I go to get that four hours of my life back?

Georgetwin

Thanks for posting to my Gore-bull blog. This blog is very good as yours always are and I must say the pathological lies told by Hillary are unbelievable! As you said it would have crashed the TH servers to print all of HRC's lies. I wonder how many volumes of books it would take?

Then the hidden agenda of Obama is frightening with his anti-Semitism!

I heard a good story today from my History prof. A little girl had a box of kittens for free and Obama's press rep stopped by thinking this might be a good press moment. He talked to the little girl and was ecstatic when he asked her "What kind of kittens are those?" She said "They're Democrats." He jumped in his black SUV and sped back to campaign headquarters, called the news affiliates and said to meet them tomorrow morning and gave the address.

The next morning Obama came with CNN, MSM, NBC, CBS, ABC and the Washington Post all with cameras in tow. The press rep asked the little girl if she remembered him and she did. He said "Fine, just fine, we're ready to roll." Obama stepped out of his limo and walked up to the little girl and smiled. He was all poised for his press appearance and the cameras had started to tape and snap. He said "Hi, I'm Barack Obama and I'm running for president. I hear you have some free kittens." The little girl said "Yes, I do." Obama asked her "Can you tell me what kind of kittens those are?" The little girl said "They're Republicans." Obama said "I thought you said yesterday that they were Democrats." The little girl said "Well, today they have their eyes open."

Sgt Relic

The first soccer game I went to was a junior high game. The woman I was dating had a son playing in the game. On BOTH teams there were a couple of good players, THE REST OF BOYS ON THE TEAMS were just running up and down the field and enjoying themselves. The indoor version is faster and more interesting as players use the walls to ricochet passes and shot. IMHO, the only difference between the junior high game I attended and a World Cup game is the age of the players.

str8t_talk

My Grandpa told me that story 35-40 years ago, it was a Kennedy in his version. It is one on my favorites.

George, Sgt Relic

Indoor soccer is a h@ll of a lot faster. Probably one of the fastest sports around. And it's a blast to play. A bit like being on the inside of a pool table during a speed pool round.
As primarily a goalie, though, the floor hurts a lot more then most grass fields when it comes up to greet you.

I can't believe anyone that will sit through a baseball game could complain that soccer is slow!

Redhead

My Opinion Only, I do not pretend to be an arbiter of ANYONE but myself.

George

Welcome back, buddy.

Good list and assessment. The big problem, of course, is that in an election that should be a shoo-in for a decent conservative, what's the offering we get from the GOP?

John McCain.

So, the bottom line is that we're facing at least four very tough years, no matter what. Because the ultimate irony is that McCain buys into much of the same drivel for which you just criticized the Dems: globull warming, amnesty, limited oil exploration and development, etc.

Google

The Psychopath: The Mask of Sanity

Assuming you did, are you sufficiently scared when you realize that it's describing the Clinton's (and my mother-in-law, but that's a story for another time).

The odds of Chelsea becoming anything OTHER than what her parents are is on par with the amount of Ivory soap that's not pure.

I forgot,

the Clinton's are also pathalogical liars (yup, you guessed it, mother-in-law).

The interesting thing about pathalogical liars is that they HAVE to lie. Trying not to is as hard as trying not breathe. The funny part (if there is one) is that they NEVER consider the possibility they might get caught in the lie.

Clinton's = mental illness

Georgetwin

Are we allowed to make requests?

My request is in the hope you apply the next blog to WSOD in Obama's campaign. He is rapid firing lies and the media is giving him a free pass.

He is giving Hitlery a run for her money in that department!

Okay, folks

Time for the Crawfish to disagree with y'all on soccer. I started playing that sport in 1972. I played from elementary school, through high school (1 state championship), a year in college (before getting recruited over to the football team), then for a while early in my Navy career (1 Navy-Marine Corps Northern Pacific Conference Championship, 3 NAS Whidbey Island Base championships). I've played at least a couple of years at every position on the field. I've been a referee as well for a number of years (not in the past 5, though). While I may be a huge fan of American football (high school, NCAA, and NFL), NASCAR, hockey, etc., I still love soccer.

Now for WSOD

It is necessary to believe that anything the left does is actually for the good of the country (instead of the politicians) and is Constitutional.

BrianR

Thank You!
I ATTEMPTED to cover McLame’s Liberalism with the phrase “As it is, the more The McAmnesty Midget talks, the less chance he has of winning.” I also mentioned his caving to Al Snore.

Indoor soccer and World Cup

Back in the 80s, indoor soccer was really big in Dallas. When the Dallas Sidekicks went to their first league championship series (Major Indoor Soccer League), I took my parents to game 4 of the series. They wwere used to the outdoor game and it's slower pace. My mother was a bit taken back when I was screaming and cheering hard in the first quarter. By the 2nd half, she was right into it with me! That is an exciting game!

When the World Cup came to the USA in 1994, I took 30 days of leave and went to 2 of the games at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Germany tied South Korea 3-3 in the group play, and Sweden beat Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the round of 16. When I wasn't AT the games, I was to be found on my parents' couch watching every single game!

1maschrom

Nothing I can add, WELL DONE!

BTW, my Mother-in-Law thinks the sun rises out of Bill Clinton's A$$.

Lolo1

Now that the affliction is catalogued, research WILL be necessary.

Crawfish

I'm not saying Soccer doesn't take skills, all I'm saying is I PERSONALLY don't care for it. the ENDLESS repetition of 2-1 games says to me that FEW of the players HAVE SKILLS.

Just my opinion though, have you any thoughts on a TH Convention?

Sarge

I got dragged to a soccer match in London. Queens Park Rangers. We were in the cheap seats. I dont remember the game but the hours I spent with these drunken, violent lunatics will be etched on my memory forever. Not boring, at least.

Soccer and the Clintons

Is a great game. I guess you have to have played it, or at least spent a good amount of time watching it to get what's going on. I have to admit its hard to stop watching when its on (we have Fox Soccer Channel). Certainly more action than baseball and more contant than football. While I love those sports, soccer gets my nod as the favorite.

And yes, George, the Clintons would fill several books with their lies. I happened to mention that one because it was made only recently.

On another note, it is truly amazing what people will believe, or allow may be a better way to say it, today.

VDaddy

LOL! I NEVER DREAMED the soccer comment would cause such an uproar.

As for what people will allow/believe, take any animal that lives in LARGE groups (cattle, horses, etc). If you can scare 1 OF THEM into running, they WILL ALL RUN! REGARDLESS of whether there is a VALID REASON for running away, they follow THE HERD! Large Groups of DELUSIONAL people are DUMBER than CATTLE! Recall all of Ronny Paul’s ALCOAettes?!?!?!

George

Oh, I am not...

I remember getting into some pretty heated debates in junior high about which is better: soccer or football.

Kind of humorous now, but pretty passionate then...

Soccer rules!

(OK, like a fine cigar or scotch, the taste may need to be acquired)

VDaddy

That is ALL I am saying about soccer. It is not my favorite, but NOBODY died and made me king :)!

So that Boone book was good?

Everywhere I have lived he has had a big influence. I think he is a fascinating character.

VDaddy

VERY GOOD! Quite Detailed and LOTS of it is kind of a Psychological Profile of Boone.

So sorry,

George! Life's a bi*ch, and then you die! (hopefully the mother-in-law dies first!) LOL!!

1maschrom

I just hope Monica doesn't read this!

Well Said!

You've hit the nail on the head. It's just a comedy show to me, although it does get tiresome, same old plot and character-types!

Squid

The INTERNET is shedding light on them, whereas before I suspect The MSM ignored things and so they were NEVER reported.

George

"I'm not saying Soccer doesn't take skills, all I'm saying is I PERSONALLY don't care for it. the ENDLESS repetition of 2-1 games says to me that FEW of the players HAVE SKILLS."

YEAH!! Backing down now that our future President (Crawfish) is taking it on, arntcha? Maybe the 2-1 scores are indicative of how many of the players really do have skills? It's harder to score against someone who's fast enough to catch anything you can kick at them.
But yeah, it's an aquired taste.

How about a TH Convention and soccer match? I'm currently coach 2 teams for my two oldest kids, so I'm trying to keep my skills fresh.
Better make it after July for me, though! Otherwise, ya'll have a good time!

Red, Skep, GT

Red - I never said I would sit through a baseball game either.

Skep - Drunken violent lunatics can be quite interesting. As I recall that Brazilian soccer game was won 1-0 and the cheering was so raucous that it startled me out of my nap.

GT - Seeing Clinton Inc. beaten up by their own creatures is just too good.

TH convention

I'd be for it! Of course, I'd need time, and some start-up funds, to get campaign materials printed up for Crawfish Party Congressional candidates for 2010 and CRAWFISH 2012! Maybe get someone to help me rewrite my party platform (available at The Swamp) to expand it and make it press-ready for mass distribution!

Red

I'm a bit heavier and much more out of shape than I used to be, so I'm probably relegated back to keeper. Of course, as a football player I was a quarterback (so I can throw the ball well and shout orders to my defenders), a cornerback (3rd in Texas in interceptions my HS junior year, but still didn't make all-conference...I have good hands), and 2nd team all-state as a punter ('nuff said). Even though I played defense in HS soccer, I was the best keeper in the school, so I helped train the keepers.

Fox Soccer Channel

and GOL! TV....

My weekends, when American football ain't available, involve those stations quite a bit. Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, Champions League, and occasionally the Spanish league.

Life's good for Man U fans!

Crawfish-Redhead-Sgt Relic

I was a promising baseball player until I DESTROYED my shoulder in a car accident. So baseball is a lost love to me.

George

That's so sad. And I can relate to being destroyed by an accident. Only mine was a tad less dramatic. I fell off a ladder onto a concrete slab. Yeah, ouch.

I'd say

Sucks to be me, but then I remember that I have a husband who loves me to pieces (I'm his princess) even though I'm not the same ambulatory person I was before.

My moto is, "The human condition can ALWAYS be worse." (and at least I'm not Terri Schiavo)

And just think

I wouldn't have all my friends on TH that I've made. If nothing else, that's worth something!

1maschrom

Other than my shoulder, I was/am fine and aging WELL! But baseball was out of the question as I couldn’t throw worth a hoot. Therapy later helped LOTS, but by then I was a LITTLE TOO OLD to be a prospect.

Yup

Old age'll gettcha every time! LOL!

1maschrom

I just turned 48 in January. I had my annual checkup recently and the doctor says I am physically the equal of a 30-35 year old.

Well

Now I'm jealous! I may look twenty something, but I FEEL 90! LOL! (I wonder what that means. It can't be good)

By the way, you're the same age as my husband!

1maschrom

Check with your doctor and see which Glucosamine Compound he recommends. Glucosamine regenerates cartilage, is cheap ($6 for 60 pills) and available over the counter.

I just turned 43

and I have the body of a 43 year old. Damaged ankles have gotten better, occaisional muscle spasms and tightness in the back, acid reflux from Hail, elevated blood pressure and cholesterol (I cook and eat like I'm a Southerner and a Texan!), gout in the feet, and I'm an outta shape couch spud. Yup, an average American 43 year old male!

George

I don't "do" doctors. I gave up after always finding the ones who graduated with flying c-'s. When you go to a doctor and think to yourself "Man, I'm SO much smarter than this idiot" it's time to give up. I always say I want to just drop dead one day and if anyone's around they'll say "huh, wonder what happened to her" LOL!. It's harder to get me to a doctor than any man you've ever met!

Craw, you crack me up! LOL!

1maschrom

It is sold over the counter, so you don't need a doctor. It is just some folks do not do well with 1 compound or the other.

George

I totally need some cartilage regeneration!

1maschrom

Figure out which compound is best for you, go to Rite-Aid and get a bottle. 1 pill a day, EVERY DAY will help TREMENDOUSLY!

George

Will do. Is there a charge for that advice? LOL!

1maschrom

Nah! Just don't be a stranger.

Cool!

A freebie!

Unless that Glucosamine stuff fixes my back, I can pretty much guarantee My butts not leaving this chair. So, not to worry! LOL!

GT and All

New post in celebration of my anniversary, stop if you get a chance.

GT

They say you are only as old as you feel. Gawd I hope they're wrong. When you start carrying a list of meds taken, major recurring aliments (like gout), and a succinct version of your surgical history in your wallet, it becomes apparent that old age is not for wimps.

Come by and take my super scientific presidential pool. HaHaHa!

Careful, you can only vote once.

A Call to Arms

Norman, a frequent poster in TH, has invited all to participate in a grassroots effort to come up with an alternative to McCain:

My TH blog, The Blogatorium, has a new mission: To serve as a forum for disenchanted conservatives who cannot in good conscience support John McCain, and want to use their vote wisely and effectively in November.

This endeavor is predicated on the following assumptions:

1. That the GOP has abandoned conservatism, and that conservatives are consequently under no moral, ethical, or other obligation to support the so-called "lesser of two evils."

2. That no true conservative would willingly and enthusiastically support John McCain.

3. That the basic tenets of conservatism are accurately reflected in the "three-legs" model (social, fiscal, and national security), and that a true conservative will embrace all three.

4. That conservatives may, however, differ on the application of each "leg," particularly with respect to questions of faith, and should respect each others' right to do so.

5. That with unprecedented turmoil in both major parties, there has never been a better time to galvanize and mobilize conservative support for a viable, third-party candidate.

6. That compromise is often necessary in politics, but that there comes a time when compromise becomes counterproductive and even suicidal.

7. That the GOP, in making an abusive and manipulative “case” for John McCain, is asking conservatives to put party over principle and to help the GOP destroy the conservative movement.

8. That, in consequence of the aforementioned, a forum should exist wherein conservatives may discuss, debate, and compare the various third-party candidates.

9. That conservatives should, as much as possible, throw their support to ONE third-party candidate, en masse, in order to facilitate a strong showing in November, and future election victories.
