Here in Tulsa, there was an incident of a moderate Muslim man who wrote an article published locally criticizing the radical Islamic element as appearing to be taking over the peaceful ideology of Islam he had been taught. The head cleric of the mosque he belonged to bannished him from the mosque, after several intimidating and threatful events to get him to denounce his views. He stood by them for awhile. His family was intimdated. The reason for this: In the koran, it is a crime to critize mohammed or Islam, the punishment is separation from fellowship and being considered as an infidel.

To be fair though, the man was restored after an outrage in the local press, and the "mis-understanding" between them was cleared up.
