IS A GENERAL STRIKE THE ANSWER?

Totally Agree

I am all for a general strike or whatever else to get control back to us, The People. Congress needs to understand that they work for us and they need to do what we want.

Totally Agree

It's unfortunate, Larry, that we even have to think of such extreme measures. These people in Washington don't seem to give a damn about the welfare of their constituents
.
Over 80% of the people want to drill for more oil but the Democrats vote down every proposal to do so. They play their political games while the people are suffering, the economy is suffering and our national security is suffering. Why anyone would want to vote for these traitors is beyond me.

The mere passage of a bill signaling our intent to go full steam ahead on all aspects of oil resource development would send the price of oil plunging downward.

Will it take armed insurrection to finally make an impression on them?

Get Out

I really do home that when these people come up for re-election they get booted.

I am so tired of them doing their committee/hearings and barely getting anything done.

If a strike will work, then I am for it!

Get Out

Sue, As I'm sure you realize a general strike would be very difficult to organize. In addition, people are so hard pressed these days that they can't afford to lose a days pay. So I guess the general strike will have to be filed under the head of wishful thinking.

The elections are another matter. If a large number of incumbents are voted out of office it will really get their attention. If they see that there is an anti-incumbent feeling in the country they will be more likely to listen to the will of the people. Nothing scares these creeps more than the prospect of losing their cushy jobs.

Overhaul

Overhaul, I can understand that a strike will not happen. I will file this under "wishful thinking."

I am hoping that people do not vote for these incumbents. It amazes me that some of these people keep getting re-elected.

It would be nice if they did start listening!

Sue

The approval rating of Congress is at an all time low. Maybe this portends a house cleaning is in the cards. If a large number of incumbents loses in November I think it will finally get through to the rest that they better shape up and start listening to the people.

The Democrats refusal to do anything to relieve the oil crisis in unpardonable.

Overhaul

I hope so. I hope we really do send a message and send these people packing.

As for oil, these people are such downers. All they keep talking about is what we can't do and it won't work. Okay, how about some positive stuff, instead of another committee meeting/hearing.

I wonder if Congress is just trying to reach that 5% approval rating by the end of summer?

Sue

If I hear "We can't drill our way out of this problem" once more I may go berserk.
As the Seabees used to say, "The difficult we can do immediately. The impossible takes a little longer."
It's too bad our "representatives" don't remember that.

DON'T VOTE FOR INCUMBENTS !!!!!

Agree!

Can't Drill...Can't do anything, but sit on our hands and hope for the best.

In CA, too bad that Boxer and Feinstein are not coming up this November. They still have some years. There are people that just love them. Not sure why, but they do.

Agree

Short of being struck by a falling meteor I can't see the state of fruits and nuts voting these two out of office.
They both can count on about 90% of the kook vote in San Francisco which is probably enough to carry the rest of the state.

Competition

Well, I see that Cindy Sheehan has stepped in to run against Pelosi. Could be a landslipe.

And as for my post a few weeks back, was I drinking "I home." Yes!

See, this state is turning me into a mush head. Any way, it would be nice to see them all go. There is a small blip on the screen. Waters may decide to pack it up and not run again. Now, when Feinstein and Boxer come back up for re-election, hopefully we could get them out.

As for Madame Speaker, yes, her fans will follow.

Competition

Sheehan may provide a few laughs in what looks to be a dismal year for America.
