How We Got Here

Very good
This is the first time that I have seen an accurate telling of how we got here. I personally think that the day that John McCain won the nomination was the day that Rush decided to destroy the Huckabee surge, and this seemed to give everyone else the green light to forget the 11th commandment.
What was shocking was mainstream conservatives saying that a Christian could not be the nominee, and frankly had no business in the race. At the same time, Romney's faith has been used by the FisCons to rage against the SoCon base of the party, reatedly charging bigotry because they don't believe the way that Mitt does. Forget that they still voted for Mitt, they are still bigots. Exit polls seemed to only be interested in how evangelicals voted. Every evangelical vote for Huckabee was used as further evidence that his entire campaign was all about anti-mormon hatred, and evangelicals voting soley for one of their own. I still have not seem a single exit poll, or heard a single opinion on what the mormons voting as a block for Romeny meant.
It would seem that the election ended up being all about the guy with all of the money, and his slash and burn approach to politics. After 10s of millions of dollars of ads lying about the charater and records of the other candidates, we went from Laura Ingram saying at the Iowa Straw poll that all of the candidates would make a great nominee to... well what she is now saying.
At the end of the day, folks like Rush, Sean, and Glenn have burned all of their capital as far as I am concerned. We do not have a good way out of this mess, and no matter who ends up being the nominee, we are going to have a hard time mending fences.
