Obama Signs Treaty with Russian Fox, Leaves Henhouse Door Ajar

for America (unlike a certain occupant of the White House).

Perfection is a goal, a benchmark, a standard. America is us - a non perfected, average citizenry, good hearted and course-correcting over time.

How easy to run down America with a recital of past errors as a verbal cloak to hide our individual character flaws. Yet, no other group of people in any age has had the collective temperament and wisdom to grant freedom to the individual as a God-given human right and to write that concept into a unique document, our Constitution, delineating the details of the rights of the people, the states, and the nation.

Just as it is a form of intellectual dishonesty to emphasize only our legal and moral mistakes such as slavery and chronic mistreatment of Native Americans, it is also a sham to whitewash our history, too.

Since we are the element that makes up the nation, is this nation going to be any better or worse than the aggregate of its peoples?

We are neither all good or all bad. We have healthy self love which protects our ego and propells us towards greater honesty. We are doing the same thing as a nation. We are talking, debating, collectively processing our past and present national unity.

But united we do stand. Mitt was right. We also stand tall.
