The Catholic Church in America: "I Spit You Out"

Kind of scary

Augsal, I'm scared about where our country is going. I myself am a Baptist, but I have much respect for you and your faith. I really think most of the problems in our country are not because of the secularists, but because churches don't stand on their convictions anymore. I'm thankful that the pastor at my hometown church has spoken out against abortion. I must admit, some of his sermons aren't fun to sit through, but I know they are from the Word and will be good for me. I still think there is a lot of good in this country, seeing Arizona, Florida and California uphold biblical marriage is encouraging. But we need to keep praying for our country to get back on God's side. Thanks and God bless you.

Don't leave

Don't leave the church, Augsal! We need you. We are struggling with the same situation here in Oregon. A member of our parish ran for the Oregon House, supported by Planned Parenthood!! Our pastor urged us to consider the totality of the candidates' positions on helping the poor, health care, etc. I know I need to do something, but I am not sure what it is yet. I am going to keep praying and hang in there for now. Please do the same! Have faith! God bless.

Its Is Very Scary

Augsul stop over my blog there are some postings you might want to read. They are scattered throughout.
What has happened to people especially many of my my fellow women who view the unborn as some disease, pestilance or cancer to be excised in the name of convenience or because a challenged child they feel, does not deserve to be born. There is something really wrong with people when the lives of truly evil people are put ahead of the defenseless. There is some sort of sinister disconnect. We can only pray that God shows them the light. I am a former Catholic, You should definitely pray about where God wants you to go or do next. God Bless you, you have come to convictions and taken a stand few people have the courage or insight to accept.

Kyle-Thank You!

You are right about the goodness in this country. It is the leadership which bothers me and is the real problem. The GOP chose the wrong candidate. McCain was never my choice and I actually liked Sarah Palin over him. He is not a true Conservative and his nomination never really resonated with the real base of the GOP. If you noticed, it was alway why we shouldn't vote for Obama and not why we should vote for McCain. Abortion was hardly mentioned and I blame the GOP and mostly the religious leaders who allowed it to become a silent issue. Thank you for reminding me that there is still goodness in this country.
Thank you and God's Blessings on you and yours.

Joel-Thank You!

I won't be leaving our Church but I think I will be leaving my parish. We have a parish school, in fact it is the school I attended from K-8, and every teacher except one was a supporter of Obama. That one teacher was criticized daily for his non-support of Obama. I attend a church once a month which has the Tridentine Mass every last Sunday of the month. The Parish is very traditional and most Faithful. I think I may be transferring there, but I won't leave the Church. I am sorry if I gave that impression. Your experience truly frightens me but like you I am not going to give up. I will pray that God lead you in your path to find what He wants of you.

God Bless you!

Conservabear-Thank You!

Great Blog!! Being from Boston it is very difficult to see Cardinal Law's name and not get upset, but that letter is very powerful. Glad to see that people like you, Kyle and Joel are out there working in the Vineyard of the Lord. We have a lot of work to do and I am very discouraged by what I see from the Catholic leadership in America. EWTN is the only voice of the Catholic Church these days, it seems.

I will bookmark your blog and may become a regular reader. Keep up the good work!!

God Bless you!
