Yes, I'd rather see a completely new slate uncorrupted by 'time served and favors received'. Ban the lobbyists as well. Far too much time is allocated to their needs and desires. The ratio of lobbyists to members of the House and Senate is overwhelming.

I would be willing (I am in FL) IF all Congress would get swept out. Unfortunately that wont happen this time around

BTW, thanks for stopping by. I wish I thought that there was a realistic chance of that happening. We just have to nibble away at the logjam of Congress and convince our liberal friends in CA and MA, etc. to dump the buttholes they continue to elect and opt for new blood. It won't be easy.

But unfortunately, I think that maany of us conservatives would be willing to lose good congresspeople in the best interest of the country. I don't believe that our liberal brothers and sisters would do the same - even though complete incompetents represent them.

The Massachusetts would be the toughest, I'd imagine. But to think people would go to congress for a term or two, just to serve, and then go back to their lives, wow, what a concept.

This is hopeful. Bill Buckley recognized this truth years ago. If we can convince a few more voters of this insight, we may be able to get back to basics.

and Kerry is such a treasure for them /sarc. But Teddy can't last forever. I have no idea who will replace him when the time comes - do you? Yep, that's we'd have if we had reasonable term limits. We should do that.

Gosh, Garnet aren't you being a little hard. The Congress worked their little hearts out (if they have one) for like 5 days straight to get that bailout/rescue, whatever thingy passed! Ugh! Too bad they have not done jack for a long time.
I am all for it. Get them all out. I would also like for the new Congress to have accountability and take responsibility for their actions. No more free rides.
CA is a lost cause. Pelosi is up against Sheehan and there is another lady on the Republican side, not in my district, so I am sure they will re-vote Potate head Pelosi back in.
If Teddy does not come back and goes off into the beyond, I am sure his wife will get first crack at the seat.

Hey, Buster
I agree - and I am hopeful. A movement could rise up in this day that couldn't have happened a few years ago. The "new media," especially the Internet gives us communicationss capabilities that weren't available just 10 years ago. The ability for like minds to band together and exert some influence. Maybe ...

So Sheehan is really going to run against Pelosi, huh? I thought that would turn out to be an empty threat. Don't know about your repub but Pelosi or Sheehan don't give a person much of a choice - awful and awfuler. Oh, never thought of the Kennedy line of succession.

Yes, Sheehan threatened, yes those were her words to run against her if she failed to start proceedings on impeaching President Bush. She even gave a deadline. When they did not happen, she decided to run against her.
She even has a website:
http://www.cindyforcongress.org/
She even has people endorsing her and contributing to her campaign.
Can't forget the Kennedy bloodlines. If not the wife, maybe a son. I wonder what Joan is up to? Man did he stick it to her.
Ough! I just felt a pain in my arm. Who has the voodoo doll out? Stop that right now!

Sue, I went to Cindy's website
I'll be interested in knowing how many votes she gets - that will tell the world how many inmates have escaped from the asylum. Only in San Francisco (or Oakland). She appears to be even more liberal than Nancy. Gag.

I was actually surprised her website was not as bad as I thought. She really does have supporters. I am not sure of the standing in the polls, but who knows? She is off the deep end, but if she beat Pelosi, at least Pelosi would no longer be Speaker and would be sent home.

I hadn't thought of that - getting Nancy out of that speaker position might be worth electing Cindy. Boy is she a piece of work. We've seen a lot of her when she was spending so much time in Crawford - almost daily reports on the local media. After initial compassion for her losing her son, once she showed her true colors - she is not very welcome in Texas.

If Cindy wins and Nancy goes, then a new speaker will be crowned or whatever, chosen! I wish the Dems would lose control of the House. Stick Cindy in the back and when she starts to babble, turn out the lights and keep the C-Span cameras rolling. I guess she does have a following.
And with Ms. Pelosi's arrogance that the world loves her, she does not realize that the American people are extremely angry at her and that puppet that follows her around, Zombie Harry. So Potato Head and Zombie are not loved, but they are too arrogant to realize it.
I know that I can sleep well tonight. Potato Head Pelosi is having a meeting in her office next week to discuss a stimulus package. Wow - those printing presses at the U.S. Mint must be working over time. Is there any gold left at Fort Knox?

Sue, since you're closer to the
race, is there a real chance that Cindy may beat Nancy? I do like your earlier point - being that at least Nancy wouldn't be speaker anymore and Cindy wouldn't have any real individual power.
