WOW! This post left me speechless AND on the edge of tears. There is nothing I can add.

Well, I was speechless, too, but as a female prone to melodramatic overtures, I started crying a river three paragraphs down. The humble act of lighting a candle as a symbol of triumph over ALL darkness trancends religion. This is why I, as a Catholic, teach my children about Chanukah. Thanks for such a great post!

I have to go find more Kleenex now...

A Light in Iraq

That is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so very much. I to was crying. If you don't mind I would like to ask some of my friends and family to stop by and read it. I am not Jewish but I do light the Menorah candles. All of them. I used to have friends that were Jewish and enjoyed many holidays togeather. They enlighten me and I shared right back. Unfortunately they have passed on. I do stay in touch with the kids.

God bless you my friend. All of you please stay safe.

Beautiful post

Stay safe over there. I'll be praying for you.

Chanukah.

I echo the sentiments posted here. Beautiful! Simply beautiful. Stay safe.

I also agree, 100 percent.

__One small flame atop a single candle, in a group of 6 other flames, "a light unto the nations." (Isaiah 42:6). A combination creating a brilliant light that guides those of the light, and not shading their eyes to its brilliance. Before America put on its armor, and took its sword out of the sheath, many stood idley by shading public view of the complete picture. Powers secure in their isolation by vast oceans of water, and vast oceans of written law, telling society, "Don't worry, be happy", we have everything under control. With armor laid aside, and swords hung on the wall, many Anericans sat warm, and cuddly, holding their single lamp, entranced by its mesmerizing flicker. 9/11 came and threatened those who lit, and guided America, along with those holding the single lamps. This article brings me great joy as I see the glory of this light being carried by those of the light. It certainly is burning a hole through the shade of those holding the single lamps. (Prov. 13:9) "The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but the lamp of the wicked shall be put out."

Errors

Tinsldr2,

I just put some info on Gunny's site about the errors and problems we have been having with the system. Check it out. We need a script person to tell us which way to go.
