THE LOST CORRUPTIBLE

recognize a fallacy
It is obvious that you care a lot about people doing the right thing in regard to God, other people, and themselves. Unfortunately the existence of the conscience you refer to is dependent on the rules one is taught during their upbringing. Historically, these teachings were directed toward producing God fearing people who knew the difference between right and wrong as taught by religion and that they were subservient to a greater power. Today's "sophisticate" does not have these ground rules to live by and the corresponding conscience does not even exist for them. This is how they can act as they do without a second thought or remorse for grinding others under their feet. This makes the issue much more difficult for those such as yourself to return these misguided souls to the path of honor.

Great thought provolking post Jesse!I must disagree with Fred in that yes, our conscience IS influenced by our upbrining or lack there of but each are born with an inate conscience - a knowledge deep in side tht there IS a right and wrong, etc. That is what God has planted in us all and it is up to each to nurture and grow it through life. Unfortunatelyh as you say some spend their lives trying to drown out that small voice inside, myself included at times

Nice Job!!
My Guide. My Convictor. My Conscience. Fred...I hear you but, if a man lives his life for 42 years without conscience, and one day dedicates his life to God, and receives the Holy Spirit, (God in Spirit form), and truly believes in that....his conscience will be developed, even late in life. It is difficult but not an impossiblity.

It is up to our parents and those around us to cultivate our conscience to do the right thing, but that conscience is there with or without the help of a good parent. My parents pretty much let me be and didn't really teach me all that much, not to throw them under the bus. I found out years ago my grandmother told them to let me be because I can pretty much look out for myself and make the right decisions.
There are very good parents who have bad children, and no matter how well they are taught they can turn out to be pretty awful people. There are also bad parents that produce very good kids. The conscience is just another name for the entity known as the soul. Thanks for stopping by.

I agree with your disagreement. It's good to rationally discuss different views of life though, so I appreciate Fred's input. Thanks for the compliment.

God will open eyes but one must be of a "willing heart". The trouble is there are so many blinded by the god of this world they cannot see. There is hope--when the heart looks up!

I agree with Jason, Jesse. I have seen it happen a few times in my life. The worst "offenders" can be "born again".
But most of the Liberal Elites will have a hard time making the change. This is mainly due to the fact that they accept no greater "authority" than themselves or Obama or their "false god" of Liberalism. I pray that God shows them the error of their ways.

In the end days, and we have been in them for 2000 yrs., even the elect will be deceived. Look how many so called liberal Christians support this socialist pacifist appeaser Obama and his whole Dem leadership in Congress. Drop by when able.

Seems to be in this generation a way to play it safe. To not be vulnerable and get hurt by guilt or even acknowledgement they did the wrong thing. They're doing more harm to themselves than they can imagine.

Well said and wise. The god of this world, as is written in the original Greek actually means the god of this age, is Satan. It's his age to test and bring as many down with him as possible. A man or woman must become a child in order to accept the Lord.

The liberal elites are ruled by their minds, not their hearts or souls. Our minds is where our ego, desire or antipathy to fit in, logic, belief in things it only sees, and hyperrationalizing is. The mind is very controlling and will do anything to keep the soul from gaining control of that person. The mind might let the heart take control once in a while because the heart can be broken. The mind can always gain control back. But if the soul takes control over a person, there is no going back.

Actually it says it's not possible for the elect to be deceived. The elect aren't what most Christians think of them to be. Every Christian is not one of the elect. There are very few of God's elect dispersed throughout this age. In Romans 11 it says everyone outside of the elect are given the spirit of slumber. Eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear. Jesus spoke to multitudes during his life, and they were Christians. The disciples did ask Jesus why he spoke to everyone else in parables and he said it's because they don't have eyes and ears for understanding, so he speaks to them in parables. To the disciples he could reveal the secrets of the kingdom to because they did have eyes and ears. There were more Christians than just those disciples at that time, but only the disciples had eyes and ears.

I rejoice there is a another world coming...soon and very soon..and I'm glad I made the decision to go there-by following the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Well written and thought out. My parents helped shape a good conscience in me as well as guide my spiritual growth in Christ. Right now I have to trust God more than ever to lead me on the right path, where ever that may be. Times are very tough for my wife and I, but we are trying our best not to falter with our faith and know we were put on this earth for something. Keep it up Jesse, and I'll keep reading.

All this morality stuff is a drag. When I want something I want it NOW! I dont care how it affects anyone else, thats their problem. I'm a pink, tailless primate and I'm on Earth to have a good time and I'm sick of puritans like you and all your 'oh lets all try to be a better person' moral crap.
'Do unto others as you would have others do unto you' has been replaced by 'I wanta get real funky like a big fat monkey!' Party on dude!

Funny stuff, but you hit the nail on the head. "Do what makes you feel good" and "it's all about me" are other cliches and mantras people live by today to their own undoing. The worst part is they don't even have a sniff of a clue about it.

Thanks. They can fill their minds and hearts with other thing, but you're right. The soul is ours and God's and nothing can penetrate it. If we allow, other things can interrupt and corrupt, but not take over the soul.

Beautiful Essay
as always, Jesse!
I have also been on a journey of sorts to try to find an answer to what has been happening to us. We are all helpless when it comes to tyranical governmental rule and hostile enemies. The truth I embrace is the comfort of God in prayer and my trust in Him. Only He knows the path that is ahead and His hand is always held out to us if we wish to take it.

Thanks. I'm not one that believes in the rapture. Most of the NT is about strengthening oneself and preparing for the end. Ezekiel 13:20 warns against teachers who teach their flock how to fly. In Luke 21:36, the word "escape" in the original Greek was "e?pe???" (ek-fyoo-goh) which literally means "to flee out from". If you put that phrase and add that with the next phrase, you'd get "to flee out from all these things" which means to flee from where the plagues will be, not the period of time. God bless.

Thanks. Morality is something I take very serious. I take myself to task because I want to be as moral as possible, and I expect nothing less from those around me. Being that we live in this current time, more often than not I am disappointed. If I was passive, I guess I'd put up with it a lot more than I do. For the passive person, dealing with either immoral people or clueless people must be an incredible burden. We should all strive to improve ourselves.
