I am alive

the future is now

My choices for the evening are licorice tea for the cold, DVR'ed Cold Case, Criminal Minds, and Greta. Been sick with the flu for thelast 5 days AND had my Mom visiting....whew! did I need to chill!

The future has to be tended to now or we won't have one. I have a sense of purpose for the first time in a long time and will do whatever I have to turn this around in 2010 and 2012. I hope you will join me.

This election result happened because normal responsible with traditional "American" beliefs try to be polite and non-aggresive. We can still do that, but we must be a visble audible daily persistent presence on the national scene.

Otherwise no one will believe that we think our standards are important except at election time.

We also need to live the standards we preach at the national level and have leaders whos lives are above board and who know how to keep our hard earned money in the bank to pay off this debt rather than spend yet more on nothing.

to the future! the past is done...we can't put a bandaid on the wound from this election. It needs major surgery or even amputation. :o)

The future

I am glad to see you start your own blog. We need conservative voices now more then ever to balance the left-wing loons in the media.
As we head into the next Presidency it is time that our Republican politicians get back to the principles that have brought this party and this country enormous amounts of prosperity. First, spending is out of control and is only likely to get worse under Obama. President Bush has expanded the federal government in unprecedented ways (Medicare/Medicaid). We need Republicans to return to fiscally sound policies and block Democratic efforts to expand our Welfare state. Second, Republcans need to provide a viable alternative to Democratic tax and spend policies. Second, we need smart policies that rely on the market, private sector and small businesses to promote economic growth. Relying on the government will never get us anywhere. Buying mortgages and artificailly propping up the housing market is not a solution. Third, we need to take a hard look at where our party is and where we want it to go. Do we want establishment Republicans like Tom Delay and Ted Stevens as the face of our party or some new blood like Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal and Eric Cantor? I will take the latter. Supporting reform-minded, less government, tough on terror Republicans is the way back for Republicans. Some of our sheep have lost their way and they need lead back or we will continue to suffer defeats which will cost our country a prosperous future.
