Ellison has a proven record in Minnesota state politics, has a non-Muslim wife, supports gay rights, was endorsed by various feminist and Jewish groups, etc, etc. We in Minnesota know him and love him. And we should all welcome the arrival of a Muslim to Congress, as this will serve as a proclamation to world of our religous freedom.
