I'm just wrapping up an analysis based on party affiliation. There is definite evidence of Obama registering Democrats in the rural counties.

Eventually I want to run several simulations based on various voter turnout scenarios and margin of victories by county to understand the potential impact. It's important to realize, Obama doesn't have to win the rural counties, just lose them each by 2,000 votes less than Kerry did.
