Chapter XV
I really didn't think that I could ever feel sorry for poor deluded Bradford, but after reading this chapter, I sure do. I also feel sorry for my aching stomach muscles from laughing so hard. It will take a week to dry the area from the tears of laughter and my neighbors will never speak to me again on account of the noise. (This is actually a good thing)
That was some Lord's Prayer. I think I'll make him learn it and a few others in Hebrew just for the fun of it.

You've gotten Bradford's character down pat.
He believes the US Constitution only applies to him when it's convenient which is the dichotomy of the socialist's ideology (all are equal, but some are more equal than others).
I wonder if, now that the shoe's on the other foot, Bradford still truly believes in the socialist propaganda he's lived with all his life?
Or has he really been rehabilitated? Maybe he's just faking it to prevent GunnyG from activating his BS detector.

That's quite a laundry list you have here. I may not be able to pick it all apart in one keyboard session.
It's interesting though the list includes so many issues that are causing problems in this country for all citizens not just conservatives. Just out of curiosity do you not see some of the problems we have in this country regarding your laundry list?
And, we don't have a problem with blacks. Liberals do. We have some of the finest conservatives, Condi Rice and Michael Steele to name just a couple. And, what did the liberals do with these two people? They exhibited some of the worst racism we've seen in this country. The leftist cartoonists lambasted Condi with horrible racist ones making her out to be Aunt Jemima. For Michael Steele they called him an oreo cookie.
Conservatives never reach down into the gutter and call blacks these kinds of things or exhibit that kind of racism. The left, the phonies, who decry racism at every opportunity are the ones who exhibit it and in terrible ways. And, who calls them on them on it? No one. They get their usual passes by the leftist media.

Getting back to racism. Who in this country goes around huckstering and preaching victim hood of the blacks? Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Always preaching that our country is keeping them down. If that isn't racism I don't know what is and victim-hood at it's best.
These phonies are keeping blacks down with their racism bullpucky. Perpetuating the lie that blacks are incapable of bringing themselves up in this culture like anyone else does is racism at its' finest and most insidious. They talk as if blacks don't have the brains to do anything. Conservatives don't think like that. We believe all people have the ability to succeed whatever their race or color.

The Left seems to constantly try to cover up the fact that it was the GOP that fought slavery.
It was the southern Democrats who fought integration.
It was the GOP in the 60s, voting overwhelmingly as a bloc, that made the National Voting Rights Act possible; it was strongly opposed by a large percentage of the Dems.

It truly is amazing.
It's interesting that they portray themselves as tolerant, accepting, all-embracing, etcetera ad nauseum.
But any reasoned examination puts the lie to it all.
Tolerant: only of speech, thought, and action that falls within certain predetermined parameters. Anything else is unenlightened, racist, politically incorrect, and therefore subject to suppression by any means.
Accepting: Not of anything non-secular. For a philosophy that claims to be non-judgemental, they hysteria level flies through the roof the moment Christianity is mentioned. Islamism, Buddhism, Kawanzaa, these are all okay. Christianity is unacceptable.
All-embracing: Beyond laughable. The example of conservative blacks again puts the lie to this, as it's a party that claims to be the sole and true representative of Blacks, yet treats any dissent as apostasy, and the dissenter as a heretic.
Hypocrisy, thy name is liberalism.

Brad here's your proof
Right inside the Cardin campaign:
"Now we have this Cardin staffer who kept a blog where she wrote about her time working for his campaign. From what I read she must be some political gypsy who travels around the country working for liberal candidates. She was in Maryland from Chicago and she was having a grand old time. Here are a few of the items written by her about the Cardin campaign and about Michael Steele:
It's an unfortunate situation when you're running an established, older, white candidate against a dynamic, younger African American. It's unfortunate, because the racism card hovers constantly, just waiting to be dealt.
It's unfortunate, because no matter how completely and utterly incompetant[sic] a person is, if he fits in the wrong demographic, you're stuck with him. It doesn't matter what his job history is, or that he may have been fired by every other campaign in the
county's history, you can't let him go.
And when his supervisor, after explaining the same detail seventeen different times, becomes frustrated and less then pleasant, he has one recourse that is only available to him because of the color of his skin.
He plays the racism card, the magic passport to a different chain of command.
His supervisor has no such weapon in her arsenal, she has only the documentation of their interactions, and her own good standing within the organization. She has the respect of her supervisors, and their backing, but still nothing can be done.

Looming in the back of one of the campaign pantries is a large stack of Oreos. A much smaller stack of generic chocolate pastries sits forlornly beside it.
Periodically staffers will sureptitiously[sic] glance around and then sneak in for a treat. One or two certainly has a stash hidden in a desk drawer.
The subterfuge would be unnecessary, and snack time would be far less amusing, had an angry citizen not thrown the aforementioned delicious snack food at one of our opponents to comment on his lack of racial loyalty. He's not our opponent yet, not unless we win next Tuesday, but it would be bad to have the cookies lying around where anyone can seen[sic] them.
Before I leave, however, I need a picture of all of us holding the forbidden cookies with the caption: "Devouring the Competition."
The blogger, who goes by the name of Persuasionatrix, is actually telling us the feeling of staffers within the Cardin campaign. It is true that she was fired, but she was the one caught printing the feelings that abound in the Cardin camp. The mainstream media will undoubtedly quash this because it does not bode well for a Democratic ticket in Maryland that lacks diversity. The people in Maryland running for statewide office on the Democratic ticket are all white males. The Republicans feature a black man, two women, and folks from around the state, as opposed to the liberal enclaves of Baltimore City and Montgomery County."

The abortion argument is not about faith, not anymore. Have you seen all the new technology on this issue? The left's own god, science, is dismantling every liberal argument about abortion.
The TH resident leftists who come here barely ever post now under the columns on abortion because they can no longer make a case for themselves in calling that "thing" in the uterus a piece of dog meat or whatever word they like to diminish the issue with, zygot, protoplasm, whatever.

Blacks slowly but surely are finding out just what the left really is. What is really frustrating is how insidious the left is about it and how underhanded they play the card.

"Former Clinton administration adviser James Carville said the 2008 election will be "the most fascinating, interesting, different, challenging presidential election, maybe ever" – and went on to make several surprising predictions about the race.
Speaking to an audience at Tulane University in New Orleans, the Louisiana native observed:
# Al Gore will run again. Quoting George Will, Carville said running for the White House is like sex: "You don’t do it once and forget about it.”
# John McCain will not be on the ballot in Iowa. Citing McCain’s support for the war, Carville said: "He’s a tired old man playing out of character.
The Republican field is so "lackluster” that the party will turn to someone not even in the race yet. "The only person I can figure is Jeb Bush,” Carville said in remarks reported by the New Orleans Times-Picayune."
Yeah, right, we conservatives are oh so interested in Jeb Bush running. Duh! NOT!

Wallace left Sharpton in the pile of his own rubble as he tried and tried to climb his way out of his own past road of destructive agendas. At the end of the interview, Sharpton was literally babbling. He had nowhere to go, nowhere to hide. It was one of the most successful undoing of a phony I have ever witnessed on TV. J-Dawg, on the abortion, I didn't even get it what he's saying, "it's a matter of faith", like only if you have a religion would you consider abortion, is wrong? Killing babies has to be a "matter of faith", so killing other humans, not babies, on what rule does that reside? Is that one a matter of faith too?
You can kill someone if you have no faith, but it's different if you do.

War
"President Bush said Friday that sectarian murders have dropped by half in Baghdad since the U.S.-Iraqi military buildup began in February, rejecting a Democratic leader's claim that the war is lost. The president said early signs show the operation to quell violence is meeting expectations.
"There are still horrific attacks in Iraq, such as the bombings in Baghdad on Wednesday, but the direction of the fight is beginning to shift," Bush said in his second speech on terrorism in two days...
...Bush urged Americans not to be swayed by the violence inflicted by suicide bombers and focus, instead, on incremental gains Iraqi and U.S. forces are making day by day, block by block in Baghdad. Weapons stockpiles are being seized, extremists are being captured and displaced families are returning home, he said.
"When a family decides to stop depending on militias to protect them or a young man rejects insurgency and joins the Iraqi army, it doesn't usually make the evening news," Bush said...
...pushing back against Democrats, Bush said that not all the troops that he ordered in January in a military buildup have arrived. It's too early to assume defeat, he said.
"Ultimately, withdrawal would increase the probability that American troops would have to return to Iraq _ and confront an enemy that is even more dangerous," Bush said."

From Iraq:
"It's frustrating to see the media turn a blind eye to the nature of the crimes and open fire on an honest endeavor to restore peace to a bleeding nation. I'm sure the terrorists are pleased by the coverage. Why not, when their crimes are being portrayed as successful breakthroughs against the efforts of Iraq and America it's likely motivating them to keep up the killing.
Would it be "hate speech" to expose the terrorists for what they are?
I think our hate for their crimes must not be hidden; there is no shame in hating those blood-thirsty monsters.
Even more appalling I see and hear some people who think the solution is to end the war from our end and I can't find an argument more naïve than this—I've seen enough wars in my life that I can't remember a day when there was peace and I hate wars more than they can imagine. But we didn't start his war; it's the terrorists who started this war against life.
Instead of telling us to stop fighting back, I'd like to see some people stand up and protest the crimes of the terrorists and tell them to stop the killing and destruction…turn the stop-the-war campaign against the terrorists, is that too much to ask for?
Tell the criminals to stop killing us and stop attacking the people who are risking their lives fighting for liberty and equality.
We're not asking the media and the stop-the-war crowd to carry arms and shoot the terrorists; we just want them to stop shooting at us."

PC and the erosion of free speech
Perhaps the greatest guarantor of truth that we have had in this country has been our First Amendment right - that of Freedom of Speech. I say "have had" because we have already lost much of it - and we have given it up voluntarily in order to be politically correct.
"Political Correctness" is a manipulation so powerful it overpowers rational thought, ethics, morality, common sense; it's seen as more valuable than truth or freedom. And those who follow it rely on every other fallacious argument to convert and/or silence its critics making it a self-perpetuating manipulation. It has become an ideology so powerful it pressures all of society to conform, so pervasive even the law subscribes to it. "Political Correctness" looks like, sounds like, acts like brain washing!
"Political Correctness" is a manipulation that not only uses fear but every other fallacy as well. One particularly insidious application extends the Ad Misericordiam argument to the extreme. The claim is that "feelings," a purely personal, affective state of one's own consciousness, must prescribe the course of group action, must be elevated to the level of national goals. NOTHING must be done or said that could, in any way, hurt somebody's feelings. Just recently, schools in a fair sized city in this state outlawed Halloween celebrations on the grounds that local witches were protesting. How absurd can you get!
Any reference to anyone's ethnicity or race is out! Not only are jokes taboo, but so is mentioning ethnicity or race when referring to statistical data. No matter how accurate and true the data, anyone putting it into words is seen to be racially and/or ethnically biased! And anyone thus perceived is subject to punishment by one's fellow citizens! And, because the government isn't doing it, it's not illegal.

It is ludicrous and has a crazy making quality about it. One can never know from day to day if one is going to cross the PC lines and be fired, harassed, or shunned.

"Democrats Want to Ban 'Global War on Terror'
There is no longer a "global war on terror” as far as the House Armed Services Committee is concerned.
It’s not that the campaign against worldwide terrorism has ended – the committee has banned the use of the phrase from the 2008 defense budget.
A memo for the committee staff states that the 2008 bill and its accompanying report should be specific about military operations and "avoid using colloquialisms.”
The "global war on terror,” a phrase first used by President Bush shortly after the 9/11 attacks, should not be used, according to the memo.
Committee staff members are instructed to instead use specific references to specific operations, the Military Times reports. The memo provides examples of acceptable phrases, such as "the war in Iraq,” the "war in Afghanistan,” or "operations in the Horn of Africa.”
Committee aides, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said avoiding references to the "global war on terror” reflects a disagreement over whether the war in Iraq is part of the effort to combat terrorism – as Republicans maintain – or is a distraction from fighting terrorists, as many Democrats assert.
Josh Holly, a spokesman for Rep. Duncan Hunter of California – the committee’s senior Republican – told the Times that Republicans "were not consulted” about the change."

I agree that "terror is a threat" but I think we disagree on the best way to combat that terror. I happen to think there's a lot of evidence to indicate your boy Bush is making the problem a whole lot worse with his incompetence, cronyism, and ill-advised foreign policy. But I know you're a 'true believer' and that anyone who disagrees is, in your eyes, treasonous or aiding and abetting terrorism. I think your belief that "the left is threatening many of the things this Country was founded on" is simply absurd--paranoid, unsubstantiated, and unsupportable. "The left" is a pretty broad, pretty ill-defined enemy. Do you mean anyone who's not a rabid righty?

Hey Pep, here is a good example of free speech in action, by those who act like they own the bill of rights issues.
NYT: May 24, 2006
A.C.L.U. May Block Criticism by Its Board
By STEPHANIE STROM
The American Civil Liberties Union is weighing new standards that would discourage its board members from publicly criticizing the organization's policies and internal administration.
"Where an individual director disagrees with a board position on matters of civil liberties policy, the director should refrain from publicly highlighting the fact of such disagreement," the committee that compiled the standards wrote in its proposals.
"Directors should remember that there is always a material prospect that public airing of the disagreement will affect the A.C.L.U. adversely in terms of public support and fund-raising," the proposals state.
In a background report, the committee wrote that "its proposed guidelines are more in the nature of a statement of best practices" that could be used to help new board members "understand and conform to the board's shared understanding of the responsibilities of its members."
Structure: “The American Civil Liberties Union is composed of two separate corporate entitites: the ACLU Foundation and the ACLU. The ACLU engages primarily in legislative lobbying while the ACLU Foundation carries out most of the litigation and communication efforts.”
Pep, among other misconceptions, Brad does not comprehend that the ACLU and other socialistic-agenda pushing leftists declared the war on us decades ago. Then, to act as if this fictional plot of your narrative offends him, I think, sounds a bit disjointed.
Brad: “You [Nee] can stick your name-calling where the sun don't shine.”
When Brad tells Nee to stick the name-calling, I laughed so hard I nearly fell, while Brad selectively ignores ‘no reference to GWOT (global war on terror) policy’ of Democrats. It’s really amusing.
Yea, this is funny:
Brad - “There was no political intent in doing this,” said a Democratic aide…”
And they said so! You’re kidding right? No wonder you are worried about Peps fictional play. Amazing how you can see selective intent other places.
Brad: “Sure Pepp's writing fiction. But it's interesting, isn't it, that her 'fun' way of blowing off steam at the perpetual victimhood she feels is to write fantasy stories about killing her enemies. I don't see ANY lefty sites advocating that."
No lefties don’t need to kill their enemies, just yet, if they can just silence them first. See above example if in doubt how they treat dissent, even within. If still in doubt, speak to Joe Lieberman.

One wonders "set us back twenty years" from what?
Socialism? I know that we've been heading for socialism for over 20 years now. So perhaps that is what is referred to here.
So, perhaps the left is putting us back much longer than 20 years, but perhaps, back to the time we were under the rule of England. The right to free speech, the First Amendment, which most of us hold dear, has been slashed by the left with their PC control, disallowing arguments to be made unless they are framed within the socialist context.

I just look to ask who the next target of their insurgency is. It is too funny. It was Rummy, well actually it was Ashcroft and then …. They won’t run out of names. Do I remember them labeling Clinton incompetent on terrorism,(flight 800?? -- Cole etc.) or asking him to step down for the good of the country; or Harold in the Reeds calling Bosnia a "lost war". Or telling Clinton he failed in Somalia. Or call for withdraw from Bosnia, “We cannot win militarily. We need a political solution.” It’s the gift of lack of standards [but for] their political ones.

ACLU and what it stands for
The ACLU Defend the enemy. They have a long history of this one. They defended the P.L.O. in 1985. They defended Quadafi in the 1980’s. And they continue today. They have told Gitmo detainees they have the right to remain silent, as in not talking to interrogators.
As legislative counsel for the ACLU in 1985, Barry Lynn told the U.S. Attorney Generals Commission on Pornography (of which Focus on the Family President Dr. James C. Dobson was a member) that child pornography was protected by the First Amendment. While production of child porn could be prevented by law, he argued, its distribution could not be.

More ACLU BS
The ACLU is anti-Christian. The list is endless on this one. Under the guise of “seperation of Church and State”, the ACLU have made a name for themselves on being rabidly anti-Christian. This is one area where they are most hypocritical. They oppose tax exemptions for all churches, but fight for them for Wiccans. They are against Christianity in school, but oddly remain silent as our children are taught to be Muslims. Whether its baby Jesus, ten commandments, or tiny crosses on county seals, the ACLU will be there to secularize America, and rewrite our history.

"Court rejects ACLU over fed Scout policy"
By staff - Apr 11, 2007 - comment
A federal appeals court has rejected an ACLU-backed lawsuit claiming the government’s support of an event sponsored every four years by the Boy Scouts of America violates the separation of church and state.
A three-judge panel of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Chicago dismissed a lawsuit against the Department of Defense, which provides support for the BSA’s National Scout Jamboree. The ACLU-supported plaintiffs had argued that the Pentagon’s help with the event on military property infringed the First Amendment’s ban on government establishment of religion.
“This is just another example of the ACLU trying to impose its flawed view of the Constitution on the rest of America,” Jay Sekulow, chief counsel of the American Center for Law and Justice, said in a written release. The ACLJ filed a friend-of-the-court brief supporting the government policy.
“The military provides the Boy Scouts with support and services that aid both the military and the Scouts without endorsing religion,” he said. “This lawsuit should never have been brought in the first place, and we’re pleased the appeals court dismissed the suit, clearing the way for this beneficial relationship between the military and the Boy Scouts to continue.” -- The case is Winkler v. Gates.

ACLU and BS
The ACLU are pro-death. Not only is the ACLU Pro-abortion, it’s the ACLU’s top priority. It most definitely takes a backseat to free speech for the ACLU. As a matter of fact, the ACLU has fought against the free speech rights of those that oppose it. If its abortion or euthanasia, as long as its pro-death you can count on the ACLU to support it. The only exception to the ACLU’s pro-death stance, is if it is a convicted criminal; in this case they are against death.
The ACLU advocate open borders. Not only have the ACLU opposed the Minute Men, a group who are simply exercising their freedom of speech, protesting and stepping up where the government is failing, but they have helped illegals cross the border.

While I sympathized with personal distress I just could not bring myself to get excited over the suppression of opposition when I stacked it up against what I saw of fresh, vigorous expressions of free living by workers and peasants all over the land. And further, no champion of a socialist society could fail to see that some suppression was necessary to achieve it. It could not all be done by persuasion. . . ."

Questions
Brad? Have you ever been out of your bubble?
Have you ever really read what and I mean really read what you see on paper, puter and so on?
Have you ever been in the military? Or do you just listen to the little kids who went in to get that 60 or so thousand to go to college and bad mouth their comrads?
OK, now I guess as a person who was raised in the south, put up with all sorts of "freedom of speech", proudly served in the military for 6 years and understands what the difference between joining during peacetime to get college benies and knowing that you can be called to fight means, and as a person with strong values...yes I'm a republican and guess what... I DATE A MEXICAN! I might be a little misguided.
Pep, I loved the story. But one thing...How could you? I mean isn't it against the US Constitution to express your opinions whether they be in spoken or written form if one person gets all lathered up in a rage? I mean really...for shame. Am I right in thinking that Bradlikins? I mean people can't just go around and express themselves right? We all have to get express written approval right?
I remember a story about a soldiers wife posting a I Support The Troops sign in her front yard. Well duh, she supports her husband, she was told to take it down because it might be offensive. I bet you love that one right Broodlikins? I mean heaven forbid that someone might be offended because someone expresses a different opinion than someone else. You call it,well in mho, self victimisation that a person can't protest. Does that include that nut case church group running around protesting at soldiers funerals? Should they be threatened with arrest? No? Why? Because it's their right. Given to them by that same soldier who is being lain to rest. Is it wrong? Again IMHO yes. Protesting is one thing but atacking a grieving family is just wrong. You want facts....read the news.
Just so I can get this straight Brad, you say you support freedom ofspeech right? Is that only if the person you are freespeeching to is tied up with duck tape wrapped around thier heads? Do they have puppet strings tied to thier heads and limbs so they can agree with everything you say? Or is your version one that say if you don't think, say, feel and believe the way I do you will burn in he**? Because I've heard that one too. Guess what, I'm not scared. I wasn't scared at the protesters fighting to get through the gates at the post I was stationed at in Korea and I'm not scared at what happening all over the world. Do I support war? No, do I support our troops and the presedent? YES! Do I think what we are doing is losing this war? No. Funny how your poll didn't have my opinion attatched to it. Funny how if some group is being unfairly treated for killing not only thousands of people in NY, Penn, and DC, but in other countries the so called "Good" people run to their aid. Oh this is so unfair...bla...bla..bla. Have you actually looked at the statistics? I do believe more civilians are being killed by terrorists than by troops. How do you propose we stop this? Pull our troops out and send in the pot smoking idiots and talk them down? Put them in time out? How? I'm really interested. You really pi**ed me off with some of your comments, but I guess I know where I can put that right? Too bad you don't believe in free speech for everyone. I am really saddened for you.
I am more saddened to think I served in the Army to be told my opinion is wrong. Is it? I don't think so. Do I think that Peps story hits a sore spot with you? Yes. If it didn't you wouldn't be attacking her. To say you don't agree is one thing, to sit in your plastic world and say she is violent is another. Am Iright in assuming that you sit at your puter and read every written word from your people 24/7? So You know for a "FACT" that none of your people has ever written anything like that? That someone out there isn't tying up the presedents daughters and threatening them with death if he doesn't step down? That is a little hard to believe even for me.

I don't think you need a civics lesson. I think you--surely?--realize that you and millions of others served and serve now to ensure that every buffoon, Tom, Dick, Harry, and Bradford (yes, even Gunny G) has the right to say what they want, right, wrong, and in-between. And surely you misspoke when you said you feel that because you served you can never *be* wrong? Because I did read that, and you did write it.
That's what really p***es you, and Pepp, and Nee, and Gunny G--all the lot of you--off no end is the fact that people DARE disagree with you. You get riled up, furious, red-faced at the sheer arrogance of people such as me who have a different opinion and express it. And then you--whining victims all--turn around and accuse me of trying to suppress your views.
You know what. Democracy means disagreement. Your fragile sense of self might not be able to take dissent or divergent opinion, but marching in lockstep, all thinking alike, is not what democracy is about. It's messy, it's infuriating, and it's complicated, but know what? Too bad. That's the way America works.

RB: "Is that only if the person you are freespeeching to is tied up with duck tape wrapped around thier heads? Do they have puppet strings tied to thier heads and limbs so they can agree with everything you say? Or is your version one that say if you don't think, say, feel and believe the way I do you will burn in he**?"
Me: (sigh). Reread what I said earlier.....please. You can say whatever you want. And so can I. We live in a free country. America is great like that.
RB: "Funny how your poll didn't have my opinion attatched to it."
Me: Funny how polls don't work like that. You do know how polls work, right? They take a representative, statistically accurate sample of the general population. Or don't you believe in statistics? And you know what. ALL the polls agree. The majority of the country are sick of the war and sick of Bush. It's you and Nee and Gunny G and Pepp who are out of step with most Americans. It's you who are Rumsfeld's famous 'dead enders.'
RB: "How do you propose we stop this? Pull our troops out and send in the pot smoking idiots and talk them down? Put them in time out? How? I'm really interested."
I think we should bring back the draft. I think if we're REALLY going to win the war, we send in half-a-million troops. But you know what. Bush is too chickensh#t to do that. He knows fighting a war in a way that really forces everyone to stop shopping and staring at the TV and actually pay attention, to actually feel some of pain the military and their families feel all the time, would be bad for business. And what you pro-Bush dupes don't get is that he uses you, he exploits your patriotism for his pro-business, pro-globalization agenda. Why do you think he's for open borders? Don't be a sucker.

More hysteria from the right. She wasn't 'told to take it down because it might be offensive' like you claimed. She was fined because the sign violated her dumba## housing association policy on signs in front yards. I'm sure if the sign had said "I hate the troops" she'd have been fined as well.
A perfect example of the right's feeling picked on. It has NO basis in reality.

I am more saddened to think I served in the Army to be told my opinion is wrong. Is it? I don't think so.
So I wrote I can never be wrong? Where? I said I don't think it is. That's kinda the point of opinions dude. Look it up. Civics? I took that a long long time ago. The books and the teachers all thought the way you do. That it's ok to ram, shove and totally obliterate the views and free thinking, you gonna argue? You just got done stomping on your soap box yourself.
The more I read and reread your post, the more the sheer arrogance and presumption of it takes my breath away. I'm not telling Pepp she can't write what she wants, even though all you slathering, raging righties keep telling me I'm trying to suppress her thoughts. All I'm doing is telling her what I think it means. I disagree with you, that's all. I know you hate dissent, but until you come and lock me up and beat me for being of a different mind (just like Pepp's little fantasy has it), I'll on expressing myself.
Does it kinda pinch your toes a bit? That's what free speech is all about buddy. It's not arrogance, it's not presumption. It's me using my right to express myself. Where at exactly did I say that you said she couldn't write? I know I never said that. But you did attack her and say she was violent for wanting to kill off those people. Violent? Ever read any thing above K level?
You never did answer my original questions. Can't? or just don't want to?

An interesting presentation, which obviously attracts passionate comments. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the exchanges. Bradford---about whom I know nothing---has perseverance, that's for sure. He's so full of it, his eyes are probably brown [they should be if they aren't]---but he does have perseverance.
I think he said George Bush used to be an alcoholic. I'm not one, but I do know many of them, and nobody "used to be an alcoholic." Once you're afflicted, you will continue to be one. You just won't be a drinker. And his use of the phrase was entirely unwarranted. Has he also made light of Bob Dole's bad arm?
Perhaps Bradford should use some of his excess energy to convince Ted Kennedy, Chris Dodd, and a number of other Democrats to give up the tippling. He can then call them "used to bes" all he wants.
In any case, I agree that he seems satisfied with Robert Byrd, that former Ku Klux Klansman who left the Klan when he felt too much heat. I guess he became a Democrat to be among kindred spirits.
By the way, Peppermint, you and your friends might be interested in my latest blog entries about Sheryl Crow and her toilet paper limitation, and my finding of the Liberalist Manifesto the other day. You might enjoy them. In Opino Veritas @ Townhall, pretty much right next door.

The country would be enthralled again, like the soap opera that was Clinton's 8 years...only this time Slick would be the traveling salesman for the qween...wonder how many bags of cash he'd manage to have the Chinese sneak into the WH next time around?
And who would be sleeping in the Lincoln bedroom, I wonder...oh, and who would get Vince Foster's old office?

That is something that concerns me if Hill is in the WH, the fact that they are a soap opera. Would we once again have our backs turned on what is really happening while Slick Willie has his cigar massaged?
Most of what I recall about the Slick Bubba WH is all the Monica crapola and Whitewater scandal. It was as if the country took an 8 yr. holiday from reality.
That's what scares me.

Good title for the Hill and Bill soap opera.
Yeah, what's another 8 years of the Slick and Hick story worth? The left can all settle back down into their comfy little security blankies knowing Hill/Bill are takin care of bizz as usual. While Bill is once again denying he had sex with that woman, no one notices the mushroom cloud.....

wanted me to give him examples of the dichotomy of the socialists:
The leftist t.p. you throw around here isn't censured by TH.com, but I guarentee you that if went on HuffPo and posted right-wing ideology, I'd get banned in a heartbeat.
It's happened to me, Brad, and you know I usually take it pretty easy on the socialists.
Maybe you haven't read Orwell. That paraphrase (I wrote, "all are equal, some are more equal than others") of his famous line in "Animal Farm" is very much the mind set of socialists.
You pick and choose who will be "equal". Your vaunted egalitarianism is always conditional.

Peppermint:Why is it when you do fictional playacts mentioning deaths, they want to call ATF and any other three letter agency on you? When libs push eradication in national policy for decades, they want to be able to pick up the phone and call a "gubmint contractor" to actually do the deed? Yet they don’t want to argue details or humanity of the policy. They just want the long arm of the government to protect and support it. And he calls people here nuts.

I really don't think even the left wants those two jokers back in the WH for another 8 years. I could be wrong, but it's tiresome. We need some new blood in there to kick start things again.
These last months of Bush are going to be nothing but agony as the dimocraps stall him at every turn over the surge.

Good question. I wonder if Bradfoggy calls a gubmint agency every time he reads a murder mystery, a science fiction story, or a horror novel?
I wonder if he has called a gubmint agency on Stephen King, Dean Koontz, or anyone else in that genre.
Not to mention what's on TV, like the Sopranos, The Shield, any other show that has violence in it.
Oh, I know, it's only when someone on the right writes something that he doesn't like. Then, that person is a lunatic.

Baldwin I thought that kook left in 2000 when President Bush got elected. Oh well. He should follow the example of Michael Jackson & move to Basra or something. No Darfur, there ya go. if telling the truth--finally--about Iraq makes Reid a "traitor" (I guess loyalty to one's country means 'my country right or wrong' for you, huh?), then a majority of Americans are also 'traitors' by your definition, as they also know the war is lost. Unlike Bush.
George W. Bush, January 2006: "There's progress. And it's important progress and it's an important part of our strategy to win in Iraq."
Bush, November 2005: "Iraq is making incredible political progress."
Bush, October 2005: "Iraqis are making inspiring progress."
Bush, September 2005: "Iraq has made incredible political progress."
Bush, April 2005: "I believe we're making good progress in Iraq."
Bush, March 2005: "We're making progress."
Bush, September 2004: "We're making steady progress."
Bush, July 2003: "We're making progress. It's slowly but surely making progress."

Brad, Surely even you couldn't think we could win the war overnight. There are only so many things so many people can accomplish. If you are really so concerned that we end the war by midnight then join up dude! Then while you are over there you can talk to the troops and the civilians and see what they think. Or do your comrads think the only way to win a war is to sit back and tell these brave men and women that their friends sacrifices are for nothing? The war isn't being directed towards one known enemy. The battle lines aren't that clearly drawn. If we were to pull out now it would be another massive cicil war and I don't think the good guys would win.
