There are two contradictory skill sets between the Legislative branch and the executive. The Legislators need to be people who can force consensus, come up with ideas, etc. However, they each act alone. They do not need to run an organization. They can persuade (and should), but they each are the full power and glory of their position.
On the other hand, beyond everything else, the President is the chief executive officer. He must run an organization. Newt has not done this.
It is like Hillary. She has been (surprisingly enough) a competent Senator. But as an executive in the Health task force, she was a total disaster with secrecy and unwillingness to compromise.
That is what is wrong with Newt in my book (and with Obama, Clinton, McCain, and others).

That's why the people generally shy away from electing members of Congress to be President; they don't know how to run things. It is easy to be one of 100, but being The One is a whole different story!

I believe I also heard that
Newt's been genuflecting at the altar of man-made global warming. Perhaps he's more full of hot air than some might think?

Newt is the consumate politician, and it seems that he has been spending a lot of time trying to become more popular. And we all know that the way to become popular if you are a conservative or Republican is to rip the GOP or conservatives---the more you act like a liberal, the better press you get.
