it's like on youtube where there are many uninformed people spewing hatred at people such as Rush, and conservatives. I've tried debating, but mostly have been called evil, hate-filled, etc. Most of the liberal name calling. Others quite debating when I showed them facts. As you have stated, I disprove 100% what is happening in our government, and can't wait to get this Anti-American out of the Oval office. I don't want America "changed." I want America to remain the great envy of the world, where immigrants flock to for the American dream (legally). Great post

You know, your comment really hits home to me. Debating with these mongrels rarely works. They do go looney almost immediately and start gushing out unintelligible gibberish. The more I learn about Obama's schemes, the more distressed I become. I think we should stop trying to reason with radical liberals, and just keep shoveling our message onto their heads. Based on your posts, I know you'll find many kindred spirits here. Since last June, I've been blogging up a storm about Obama. I did a lot of research on him during his candidacy and I'm still surprised at the lunacy of some of his actions since Jan. 20th - and it's been less than a month and a half - I shudder at what havoc he can unload on the U.S. before we dump him in 2012.

Vern. My Mom was a teacher (She got her degree from Bob Jones). She read the Bible every day until I was in the 6th grade. We did a lot of old fashioned camping. My Mother was tough and So was my Grandmother (She had a wall full of hunting guns in her dining room and she used everyone of them.)

Anyone that knew my Mom knew I never got away with any type of deceit.. There was never any enabling either!

I can understand how your dear Mom established boundaries and discipline. This was the foundation of her love for you. One reason we have much crime and mayhem today is that "parents" only produce children, but don't raise them. Your grandmother sounds like a great individual with a free-wheeling spirit. I knew there was something I liked about you. Matter of fact, several things. You are a tough as nails conservative, a patriot -- and you know my town. My wife and I moved to Wilmington from Raleigh in 2000 when I retired. We bought an 1872 Italiate house in the historic district, and our son restored it. But given your background, at some point would you consider putting up a post giving people like me a little more "personal" insight into the world of the media? I only see the results of decisions made, I don't know diddly about what goes on behind the scenes.

I'd be happy to take a swing at that -- inside the media mind. I won't do that right now, but will launch a post on that topic ASAP. Good question, and I won't have all the answers. But I can draw on a 40-year career in the media, jump-started by my old pal and mentor, the late Jesse A. Helms. That was quite an experience, and I will always be grateful for his friendship and encouragement. (But I will not do this unless you tell me how you make your posts look so darn good. Deal?)
