The Enablers of Socialism

Not Me, or else they're saying nothing at all. Another pointed well placed shot on target.

The distorting of words is upon us. Socialism is actually antisocialism. Social worker can be more accurately called antisocial worker.

Nanny state stuff really agitates me, especially the anti smoking, seat belt crusaders. Yes, my moderate friends say it is for the good of everyone, and I ask "do you really think people die because they are not wearing their seatbelt, or injuries sustained in an accident?" Not wearing a seatbelt is not a cause of death, it may increase the likelyhood. I worked with a moderate who was a devote believer in the seat belt law, who blew by me over the speed limit everyday. I guess speed does not kill.

Here's another thought: How come the state police run advertising campaigns that warn if you don't wear a seat belt or drink and drive, they will get you. Why don't we see them warning real criminals, like murderers (70% of murders in Detroit never result in an arrest), robbers, rapists, etc. Don't they think those people watch tv too?

Here's why. We have a business and have had trouble over the years with theft, etc. The last time they broke in stole almost everything, and the first thing the police said when they showed up was that we were never going to see our stuff again. They didn't even fingerprint they were so confident of their inability to actually solve a crime.

This is where we are at today, thanks to all the people who are in their comfort zone.

Actually, I work hard to keep up with the facts of current events, which is why I am not able to discuss the issues intelligently with conservatives.

Cute - but if you actually did keep up with the facts, you would BE a conservative. I've met few liberals who even remotely understand science (man-made "global warming" is a fantasy) economics (their "tax the rich" policies invariably fail) or crime ("if only we ban ALL the guns..." - like they do in Chicago, D.C. et al). And when it comes to liberals undaunted worship of failed socialism, well, need I say more?

I had to smile (despite how sad it truly is) when I read your comments on Public Service Announcements. I have been a lifelong hater of the PSA propaganda machine and have made exactly your point many times. All I ever get is a blank stare or an admonishment to lighten-up. It's nice to finally see, after all these years, that I'm not alone.
