Nice to see another Minnesotan posting good stuff here. The quotes are good as well as your analysis. Good way to get the ball rolling.
Kind Regards

Good group of quotes
the one most telling for me is the one from alexander Tyler..."nations have progressed through the following sequence: from bondage to spiritual faith, from spiritual faith to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependency, from dependency back to bondage."
If you look at our history,we now appear to be somewhere between apathy and dependency and rapidly decending to bondage. The nanny state is alive and well and will get worse the next 4 years..

What A Difference
How the leaders of the past tower over the pipsqueaks who curse the halls of leadership today! Its not even WHAT they are saying but how eloquent and erudite they are. Of course, George Washington wasnt as smart as Hillary Clinton; when the Whiskey Rebellion broke out he didnt rush a busload of Federal Marshalls to serve subpeonas on the culprits like HRC plans to do to OPEC; he went the Bush route and just sent in the troops.
