DRUG INDUSTRY: COMMENTS TO T. LEE AND "hob"

When it comes to anything from China I totally agree we need to know what is in that product.

Their damn ingredient put into cat food killed my cat a year ago. Could I prove it? No, and it would not have been worth me suing. But, I lost my precious Tosca after many years of her being with me.

And, that's just my pet. Never mind the human destruction from things coming from China.

PEPPERMINT 2 - THANKS

Peppermint - thanks so much for your comment.

I have a "thing" about Chinese products, and you'll certainly believe that if you went down a list even of the titles of some of my previous blogs.

I am truly sorry about your cat. Losing a pet is very difficult even under "normal" circumstances; and I cannot begin to fathom the range of emotions that must have gripped you with the loss of your pet.

I have begun subscribing to the weekly FDA News Digest and to the Consumer Product Safety Commission reports. I attempted to get their links just from my e-mail, but of course that's not possible. It's easy enough, however, to find them on the Internet and then just subscribe. It's enough to make your flesh crawl.

One of the recent CPSC reports listed numerous items being recalled; the majority were from China. The FDA recalls, etc., are of great interest to me as well.

I've written my lawmakers pretty much what you've read here -- in so many words, knowledge is power. And the power to reject a product because of its origin is phenomenal. We should have that right and power.

Thanks again for your comment. I appreciate it.

Thanks for your condolences. Yes, losing one's pet is devastating especially since they become like children you know.

I used to subscribe to the Consumer Product Safety reports. Very helpful.

You're right we should have the power to reject these products with knowledge. It ticks me off that the US is so lax with China, but some company here would be shut down in no time if they did what China does.
