somewhere over the rainbow
where are the caves we need to escape to?
Is this scenario for 5 years or 10? I want to know if I will still be here to see it.

One Bright Spot You Forgot To Mention...
PART I
The deep South States of Mississippi, Alabama, Louisana, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas decide enough is enough and secede.
They are quickly followed by Kansas, Nebraska, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming.
Missouri and Kentucky refuse to be a neutral area as they were in the Civil War and join the secession movement.
Delegates from all these states (plus non-voting delgates from Tennesse, Indiana, Iowa, the Dakotas, the Carolinas, and Ohio) meet in Montgomery, Alabama, and set up a government.
93% of the military resigns from the US and joins the new military in the seccession states. They bring their ships, planes, subs, tanks, and weapons with them.
The US "PC" military and Federal agencies try to take up guns in Indiana, Iowa, and Ohio. These states secede, along with Illinois, Tennessee, the Dakotas, and the Carolinas.

PART II
Kansas City, MO becomes the new capital.
The Canadian Government condemns the secession movement and refuses to recognize it. Western Canada secedes from Canada and asks to join the new nation.
Alaska decides to secede.
Obama asks for UN help. The new nation tells the UN to keep out or risk a small tactical nuke hitting the UN building. The UN blusters and backs down.

A World Gone Mad
In the fifth century something exactly like what Gray Ghost is positing happened. It happened at the same time in the Roman Empire, India and China. I think even in Peru and Mexico. We saw in WW1 and in the 1930s that periodically the entire human race goes crazy. People dont realize how much we all depend on an orderly world system to support six and a half billion souls. The one's who are in the most denial are Islamic but this country is headed in a strange direction.
If you look at that map of red and blue COUNTIES from the 2004 election it would seem that a coup that captured the whole country is possible, but then we would have a dictatorship; the covenant would be broken.
