Thanks for your though-provoking blog entry.

This is a subject near and dear to my heart. It is my contention that marriage created society - not the other way around. Our laws recognize and license marriage - they did not create it. And so it is absurd for judges from one state to force a new definition on marriage onto the people. We simply have not seen an organic groundswell of "marriage" among same-sex couples (only recently adopted ceremonies that mimic the long-established marriage ceremony), because marriage in inherently about uniting the two sexes.
