What Do You Think?

you're right, Bob's Nephew.

We do have some ESP going on. (great minds and all that rot).

"be afraid; be very afraid". Sage advice where this worse than Mafia administration is concerned. A little warranted fear can be a good thing as long as we don't roll up in a fetal position and DO NOTHING. There are millions of us out there feeling just like you and I do that will eventually stand up and speak up loud and clear. Just hope we do it soon enough. Where are the George Pattons of today? The John Waynes? The Harry Trumans and Ronald Reagans.

Good work, John. (:-

Bob's Nephew

It's all in the pain. And pain is coming. The reality of inflation, the continued escalation of unemployment numbers, the exposure of incompetent Congress, the muddled middle will switch it's fickle minds soon enough. We need an education for our population, though. Save our Republic, save our Constitution....great piece BMU!

How do we ...

... get back our Freedom once it has been usurped?

Once surrendered, there will be only one course of action available to reclaim our lost freedom. Wrest it from the grips of tyrants. Pay for it with the only coin commanding enough value - our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.

That is the harsh reality facing us at this pivotal time. We must prevent the destruction of our nation's cornerstones. Failing that leaves us with only two options - accepting lives of subjugation or fighting to our last drop of blood to throw off those chains once again.

I will not bend to the whip. I choose to live free. If it does come to open conflict, at least I will die free.

Re What do you think?

Hey there! Greaat to see you back. Ive taken more doen time here than usual also! As bleak as it seems somethins I take heart in that Even Californians had enough and supported Prop 8 and refused new tax increases!. Also BO's Approval now below 60% and on individual issues Amerivcans do not like what he is doing. 2010 is not far awahy. We need clear message, new ideas and leaders to articulate them

KevInFl, we already have our message

I posted it shortly after the election. (Featured - Deja Vu All Over Again)

We don't need to search for *new* ideas. We need to return to those ideas upon which our nation was founded; those ideals which sparked the Reagan revolution.

“Now, my fellow Americans, the tide has been running against freedom. Our people have followed false prophets. We must, and we shall, return to proven ways-- not because they are old, but because they are true.

“We must, and we shall, set the tide running again in the cause of freedom. And this party, with its every action, every word, every breath, and every heartbeat, has but a single resolve, and that is freedom.

“Freedom made orderly for this nation by our constitutional government. Freedom under a government limited by laws of nature and of nature's God. Freedom balanced so that liberty lacking order will not become the slavery of the prison cell; balanced so that liberty lacking order will not become the license of the mob and of the jungle.

“Now, we Americans understand freedom; we have earned it, we have lived for it, and we have died for it. This nation and its people are freedom's models in a searching world. We can be freedom's missionaries in a doubting world.”

Goldwater's words resonated true 45 years ago. They carry greater importance and urgency today

Bobbie, Simpatico!

Indeed, we do have the same thoughts, but then, haven't we for a while now, even before we "met".

Davecat!

Yes, the pain is coming. It has begun already for millions, and will get worse. An education?! Absolutely! And we will have to be the teachers.
Even Sarah Palin is coming out with "I told you so."

Saltwater, my friend.

Talk about thinking alike! If Socialized Medicine becomes the law of the land, that will be the point by which all citizens are controlled and enslaved.
Fed'. Gov't: "If you don't live the way we say, we will deny you medical care."
Me: "I will live Free. God himself will decide if I live or die, heal or sicken. Keep your d***ed healthcare. I will not bow my knee to your false god."

Kevin, good to hear from ya

There are some signs out there, but they are weak right now. I agree with Saltwater, we need a revolution based on the old ideas, not new ones. If the Constitution and the Declaration mean what was written by the Founders, there lie our best ideas. A clearer message was never written in human governance.

BMU

Welcome back to the fray. This really is a case of great minds thinking alike. I've sent similar notes to Cornyn and Hutchison.

Crawfish, you're right.

I don't know that it's so much "great minds" as it is that what is happening and how far it could go is so painfully obvious if people (including our good Senators from Texas) would just look, they could see for themselves. However, I'll go along with "great minds". I'm not shy.

Slowly, It Turns!

Bob`s Nephew! Welcome back! prez took a bit of a haircut today and though it affects our country greatly, it also bodes well for some sort of sanity in our government.

. Conservative victories in the EU
. Justice Bader-Ginsberg`s stay re the bankruptcy and sale of Chrysler. Special thanks to Indiana!
. The Governator advocating a flat tax and the end of welfare (Huh?)
. prez coming out to sell the stimulous one more time

There is so much hardship facing Americans today, choosing what staples they can buy to care for their families. Beyond unemployment, there will soon be massive inflation and, ultimately, no products on the shelves. People should start stocking up, like the ant, an extra bar of soap or toothpaste but not "hoarding". We are beginning to see the empty shelves here in Mexico for products we have bought for years and are no longer available. Another thing, don`t stay away so long, BMU!

Bob's Nephew

We either sink or swim.

I Don't Worry About the Majority...

of the US Military. With 3 nephews, four 2nd cousins, and one cousin-in-law now on active duty, I keep up with what the US Military is thinking.

The active duty troops will for the vast part (over 85%) support the civilians in any Constitutional crisis. This includes gun confiscation. I assume that this is the reason that O'Vomit spoke about a "civilian national security force" during the election. O'Vomit and the Democrats know they cannot count on the US Military in the advent of any type of uprising.

The problem with O'Vomit's "Brown Shirts" is that he will only be able to recruit Liberal Fringe Groups. Such a group of "idiots" would not be able to cope with an armed civilian "militia" (many of whom are retired military). If O'Vomit were to try to use UN troops (the hated "Blue" helmets), he runs the risk of a complete revolt by the US Military.

Therefore, all O'Vomit can do is exactly what he is doing; i.e., moving to Socialism in a manner calculated to not cause "open revolt". However, if the 2010 elections go against O'Vomit and the Democrats, what then?

That is the $64,000.00 question. If the 2010 elections place control of the US House in the hands of the Conservatives, then the "ball is in O'Vomit's court". He can either accept the idea that he lost or he can try to use whatever methods he can come up with to assume complete control of the US Government (martial law, etc.).

A hundred years from now historians will be writing about this period in American History. One way or another, this period of America's history will be called the 3rd American Revolution, either by Liberals or Conservatives.

Good questions

I've been asking who needs to and who will take the legal steps to stop the un-Constitutional power grabs.

Does it have to be the Supreme Court or the Senate or Congress or can it be just one politician?
According to the system of checks and balances that are supposed to work, it would seem that either the Supreme Court or Congress. Of course the Congress isn't going to do anything right now.

dawndawn

There are signs that people are waking to the chilling possiblities. As you said, EU conservative victories, Cauliforneea exploring the possibility of eliminating the welfare state. I am sensing a possible sea-change. The question still, will it be in time; will it be enough to avoid a disastrous result?
Thank God for strong Conservative voices like Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, Cunningham, who continue to speak against this soft tyranny and inspire us all to continue with our resistance.

Georgetwin

Sink or swim! I say swim! Keep on swimming against the tide. When the tide changes, we'll be swimming with it.

Gray Ghost, True!

I believe what you say is true about the majority of troops and even officers not going along with an offense against the people.
I know a few young troops, I even have an old friend who is a BG in Army NG. I cannot see him acquiescing to that sort of action.
But I can also see that the minority loyal to government could do a great deal of damage before they could be stopped.

beachmom

Thanks for stopping by. Those are good questions. I don't know much about the law, but I believe that in order to bring a suit in Federal Court, someone has to have a thing called "standing". If Congress or one Congressman does not have standing, then I don't know who would. I suppose, "We, the People" could join in a class-action lawsuit. Bet we couldn't get any help from the ACLU, though.

BMU

Clear and concise. Doesn't get any better than this! My compliments. Would you object to my sending this to a couple folks? I will indeed note your blog post authorship. If you prefer I don't, no problem.

BTW, though I am a female humanoid, I too have made a decision that I will go down with the Constitutional Republic should that be necessary. This mess has been coming on for decades and decades. Oddy enough, I find it fascinating that we are living in such a historical time.

Thanx so much for sharing this, BMU. Stay safe and well.

Bob's nephew

Our freedoms are being surrendered right and left for "peace and security". The problem is all these who have brought all the government bull are still gonna be sirprised when they realise they are no longer free. It is still not too late for our country--but it is gonna be a hellofafight to 2010 then on to 2012---I say LET"S GET TO IT!!!!

Mrs. AL

You are welcome anytime to spread my blog material whenever you think it's worthy. I am honored if you think so.

Isn't it an old Chinese curse, "May you live in interesting times"? The times, they are interesting and historical.

Hey SK

We're gonna keep on hitting it, like Rush says, "'til everyone agrees with us". Keep on keepin' on.

BMU

Oddly enough, what Jim DeMint is apparently exhorting us all to do, is what only he and the other members of the New American Aristocracy (NAA) are guaranteed the right to do.
As a sitting member of the NAA any member of CONgress can stand up and say anything and not be held liable for the actions they present as a course of action.
Including it seems, the need to remove the established (or entrenched) tyranny of government.

boaz, I think

I'm catching your wave, but I would appreciate a little more explanation of your terminology.

BMU

Thanx for your permission. I will let you know if the elected officials here in VA respond.

Nephew

Well one thing: we must all keep blogging. We must flood our reps with letters as well as the Op-Ed pages of hometown and national newsmedia outlets. We must convince the Libertarians, Reagan Dems, Indies,Constitutionalists to join with conservs to take back the GOP in unity. Using the NET, Twitter, and all other forms of communication, we must continue to educate the illiterate lemmings who continue to elect liberal Dems nationwide. Working for the local Chamber helps. I have for 20 years and have pushed much pro-liberty, and pro-business legislation even in the Soviet Republic of Ca. Drop by my newest friend.

Gunny, thanks!

And Saltwater has clarified the issue.

Hey rackoons

Thanks for the additions. You are right, we must not quit, and we must continue to fight in any way we can. I'm with you. I'll be by your place soon.

Bob

No going down without a fight. I am posting this to my Facebook as my lefty friend chastised me for getting political on a family site...heh,He loves his messiah.

Kudos and you will be recognized as BMU!!

Nee, post away

And thanks. I'm on Facebook, too. Since so many Pols and Pundits are on Facebook, too, I use the comments sections to give 'em my two cents and more. I am having way too much fun.

Bob's Nephew

If the tide in 2010 and 2012 do not go back in our favor......will it come to a revolt?? I can see militia groups around the country standing up for what is right. I can also see firing squads for "traitors or terrorist groups that are against the American Govt" typical End times stuff. I hope it does not get ugly and come to that.....but I would not be surprised if it does.

Great Post Sir!!

Glad you're back BMU

You were missed! Great thoughts on your post. It all seems so simple - why can't EVERYONE understand it? Everything old isn't necessarily good - old doesn't automatically equal "good." But the Constitution and the Bill are old things that WERE (and still ARE) good - better than anything else that's been tried. Yet, Barry is so full of himself that he thinks that he can do better. We can't let a narcissistic egomaniac screw up our United States, and he's well on his way to doing just that.

BTW, you done any planning for July 4th TP?

I think

you are overreacting. But on the other hand, people love drama.

Jason

I feel very much like the Colonists in 1773-1775. They did not want violent conflict with England and hoped to avoid it. Yet over time it became evident that England was not going to allow the them their autonomy, their liberty. I hope the Federal Gov't backs away from the liberty encroaching moves it is making now.

Garnet

Thanks for the kind words. I've missed my blogger friends, but did just need a little breather.
My plans for the T-Party are to be there. Southfork Ranch is gonna be a great venue.

c5

I find it hard to give a "tinker's dam" about what you "think". You should be supremely happy, since all your socialist dreams are coming true. The government now is owning and controlling the means of production as never before by having large stakes in the auto industry and the banking business. The very definition of Socialism. Not everyone is on board with this arrangement. I know I'm not.
BTW, by your definition, I suppose the Colonists in 1776 were just being "dramatic". After all, their tax rates were much lower than ours and their government was all the way across the ocean. Except for this, when the British army did arrive, they tried to disarm the citizens. That's when all hell broke loose.
Except for that pesky 2nd Amendment, that may have happened here already.

Bob

How come TH conservatives claim to know what "socialists" want? You reduce all socialism to state control but the socialist party of America strongly opposed Obama in the election because he is not a socialist in their, and most people who have studied the subject, eyes.

Plus, please leave a list of the freedoms we have lost?

hate speech

I heard Chris Matthews referring to comments against big government as Hate Speech. Gave me chills up my spine.

Dave

What do you expect from MSM? Their job is to protect those in power whether they be in public or private sector. Don't you remember the media rush to support the invasion of Iraq?

C5, I expect

The Socialist Party doesn't back Obama because he's not running under their banner. They don't get to control the process, even though the results are certainly socialistic. Although there is a lot of evidence that they were all buddy pals back in Chicago. He ran as a socialist before he got his gig as Democrat Ill. State Senator.

C5

MSM's protect those in power alright. But only if they have a D by their name. If you would remember correctly, following 9/11, nearly everyone was on board with invading Afhanistan, almost 70% were in favor of invading Iraq. That's when the MSM began their dissent and subsequent support of any D who objected to it. Despite the success of the mission, the Democrats and MSM succeeded in prying the approval of the American people away, and painting Bush and Cheney as the terrorists. Even Hitler and Goebbels knew how powerful lies become when repeated often and loudly.
As for myself, I am still in favor of kicking jihadist butt anywhere we find it. Only problem, Obama is in favor of kissing it.

Bob

There was a sharp distinction between what the Socialist Party advocated and what Obama is practicing. The Socialist Party has about the same view of State control that you do. In lieu of that, what the Socialist Party wants is worker control of corporations.

As far as the MSM, they protect power structures in society, most of which are private sector power structures and they protect American Exceptionalism. Evidence of this can be seen in how the MSM covers wars. Regardless of the war, coverage of the war ranges from support to opposition because the is impractical. Moral judgments of the war itself, not all tactics though, are absent from the MSM. This is true whether they are covering the invasion of Iraq, the first Persian Gulf War, our wars in Central America in the 80's, or the Vietnam War. This is because these wars benefit those in power, that is those who make a financial killing off our military making an actual killing.

A moral crisis of epic proportions

We have a growing MORAL crisis on our hands in this nation, which includes the willingness to allow the government to 'steal' on our behalf.

Power corrupts, you know. Ultimately, I think, power appeals to the natural, unredeemed state of the fallen human, and we are seeing generally unchecked power in action.

It is truly frightening.

Alexis De Tocqueville, the famous French philosopher, who warned: "America will last until the populace discovers that it can vote for itself largesse out of the public treasury." Pure democracy fails to check the risk that 51% will vote to do nothing but live off of the other 49%...and that the 49% will say "screw that!" and quit producing anything for the others to live off of.

Curt, you are so right.

We are seeing it happen right before our eyes. There was really something about the Founders and men like de Toqueville. They were men of vision. They could see not only the great possibilities of this new way of governance, but they could also see the pitfalls and the ultimate weaknesses of the system. Proponents of Socialism, which is the bane of our form of government and the Freedom it allows, cannot see the weakness in their own system.
