Sheila

A month and a half of excellent, thought-provoking posts.

Congratulations.

O, Sheila....

....after reading this last offering, one is obviously led to reminisce about past experiences....

I remember as though it were only yesterday that you were getting your feet wet....Oh, how excited you were...all nervous and green about your endeavor, but you held your head high and triumphed over your fears and became one of the most popular around....good times, good times....

Out of curiosity....how did you come across Townhall anyway?

And I finally

added your blog to my blog roll. Keep up the great work!

mgraves

Very kind of you, thank you. I always enjoy your insightful essays. Very informative and well researched, as well as thought provoking.

Thanks for stopping by!:)

Hey Jimmy!

good times...good times...it's nice of you to say. I don't remember laughing so hard at various times, thanks to your great humor...

Interesting that you should ask how I came upon Townhall...I have listened to Hugh Hewitt, and Michael Medved for quite a while, and knew about Townhall, but never really paid much attention. I didn't know what a blog was, until I heard about it on Hughe's show!

My sister and I were always on the phone discussing the latest news events, and a little over a month ago, she mentioned she had heard about starting a blog on Townhall, and wondered if I would like to blog with her, and write together.

I wasn't really interested, so she went ahead and signed up, debating about whether or not to allow comments on her new blog "A Word to the Wise". She kept after me saying I should sign up, so I wound up doing it!

So here we are! Yes, my sister is Sandra Wise! It has been a blast, and I'm so glad she heard about it and talked me into it! We could have never written together, because we both have a mind of our own! So it has been great fun, and now we have all these mutual friends at Townhall!

Sandra stayed in Texas, and I wound up on the Left Coast! Now aren't you glad you asked?...:)

Cynewulf

Wow! I'm honored to be on your blog roll!:)
Thanks so much for your kind words!

I have really enjoyed reading your stories, and am anxious to see your next entry!:)

Hi,sis!

So now the secret is out. You were always the better writer, and that is why I wanted you to join Townhall. I'm proud of you! I'm glad that we have mutual friends on the blog.

It has been so much fun! I'm looking forward to many ventures in the future.

Hi, Jimmy Carter....I'm from Texas and she's not!

Just kidding....

Sandra

Hi back, Sis! Well, I'm afraid I can't agree on the "you were always the better writer" part of your comment...but I accept it as a high complement...:) It has been fun, and I must say, I've enjoyed all your blogs!:)Keep it up!

Hope you're doing better this morning.

What a coincidence....

....my brother Cynewulf and I save alot more money using this venue than the telephone...

Are you serious, Jimmy?

Or joking as usual?...:)

Hey Jimmy!

Do you and your bro Cyne share an Irish brogue?...;)

Thanks for continuing to write

I check your blog nearly everyday. Thanks for your insight and willingness to speak up for this wonderful nation of ours.

trv

Good to hear from you. Thanks for your comments, and checking in.:)

Hey Sheila....

...I was joking...it appears he doesn't want to play...

By the way...today is a National Holiday!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIMMY CARTER!!

Haaapy Birrrrthday to youuuu!

So, since you said you would just be old enough to run for president...when you were talking about your campaign...does that mean you just turned 40?...:)

Be sure and make a wish before you blow out the candles!:)

About you and Cynewulf, guess you'll just have to be brothers in the cause...:)

For he's a jolly good fellow!

For he's a jolly good fellow!

For he's a jolly good felloooow!

That nobody can deny!

Happy Birthday Jimmy Carter!

Actually I was referring...

...to the ex-President's b-day...

About mine, you only have to be 35 to be President and I will be just that before the Presidential election...

Jimmy Carter

Oh well then, I take it all back...:)

Wow, I thought you had to be 42 to be president!

I guess that would make you the youngest presidential candidate, if I'm not mistaken...:)

A couple of facts:

All the requirements to be President:
1) 35 years of age
2) To be born on Our dirt.

The youngest President: "Teddy" Roosevelt(42)
The youngest elected President: Kennedy(43)

Sidenote: Jimmy Carter was 52 I believe.
Ronald Reagan was 69!

Jimmy Carter

Hey, thanks for that! I was going to google it, but you beat me to the punch!

I'm sure Ahnold will be pushing to change the "born on our dirt" part...:)

Man, I gained a brother

and then was disowned all in the space of a day. It's been a whirlwind for me. If you all don't mind, I need a little bit of time...

Cynewulf

I'm dying laughing...:)

Sorry...it must be extremely traumatic...maybe Townhall has a shrink you can log onto...

Still laughing...:)

Sorry Cynewulf...

....but Sally Struthers talked me into supporting someone else....and at $.37 a day they are cheaper to boot...

Jimmy Carter

Ha...I'm cracking up!!! You're cheap!:)

justaguy

Thanks for checking in, and for your kind remarks!:)

Hope all is well with the new baby!

A question..

....how many times does one push a button before one realizes that the remote needs batteries?

Check out Cynewulf's thread and vote for your favorite comic strip...

Hey Cyne!

I'm back, sorry I couldn't reply earlier!

Am I missing something?...:)

Jimmy Carter

Answer: the second time...

OK, I'm going to Cynewulf's blog to vote...:)

Surely you jest...

....nobody replaces the batteries after only one failed attempt...

Jimmy Carter

Why not? If it doesn't work, it doesn't work...:)

So, Jimmy...

How many times would you push the button?...:)

They have died a slow....

...agonizing death....it began with two pushes, then three pushes, then two really hard long pushes of a button, then a couple of shakes of the remote and saying to myself, "please, please just work one more time..."

Now I'm changing two AA batteries between three remotes...

I can't be the only one who does this....

Jimmy Carter

I'm dying laughing...agonizing death...pushes...shakes...please, please just work one more time...still laughing...I'm sure my husband has done that several times, now that I think about it...too funny...:)

Thanks for the laugh!

you are a natural, Sheila

keep it up

DeVine-Gamecock

Thanks! That's very kind of you!:)
