Horrendus Bill
I'm glad this is being talked about, as the name of the bill is completely misleading.
I am a 24 year old husband. My wife is 23. Is it fair that I ask for my neighbors to provide me with health care under a bill titled as Health Care for Children?? I don't have children, but i don't think it's fair that i would ask for my neighbors to pay for anything for my children.
I have also heard there were provisions in this bill to give illegal immigrants children healthcare.
All under the title of Childrens Healthcare. Who could vote against the Children??
The democrats have been playing this game with misleading names on bills for far too long. The SCHIP program would have a horrendus effect on the tax payer and would increase those who depend on the government, (who funds the government??) to pay for things.
I think it is a matter of priorities. Do i need a big TV or health care? Do i need an ipod or healthcare? Many of the people who don't have health care choose not to have it because they would rather have something else like a big tv, cable, a phone or an ipod. Poverty does not exist in this country like it does in afghanistan, africa, china or any other countries. Poverty in america is having a 10+ year old vehicle, and basic cable on a 27" tv. That makes someone poor in America, but rich by any other standards worldwide...
Things need to be put into perspective in the media, and i am glad this issue is being talked about, thank you so much for bringing it up.
