Ravings From A Concerned American
Should Townhall ban liberals who blog in Townhall?

No banning of liberals please
I think that the only people who wish to ban the (civil, appropriate) thoughts of others are those that fear they cannot withstand scrutiny. I just started [http://moderatelyconservative.blogtownhall.com/] my blogging here, and while my two blogs so far would be agreeable to most Townhallers, I plan to post some (when they are topical) that will not.

I am not advocating banning of liberals
I am just pointing out the fact that a lot of liberals like to harp on the right about civil rights, freedom of speech, and censorship. But when it comes to reality, a lot of liberals want to censor anyone who do not support their views, and will use profanity and threats to accomplish that end. Or in the case of certain bloggers at Townhall, they will not allow anyone to post comments to their blog. I welcome a good discussion or debate anyday. I may not be always right (no pun intended), but I think it's what makes America great. We are all allowed to differ in our opinions, and to express our opinions.

not a right. If I want to subject myself to Liberal Spam like your above metioned blog, I can go to the Main page blogs or columnists. OR, I can go to the Daily Kos or Huffington. Personally, I'm hear to share opinions on the readers' blogs with the likeminded, and I'd be very happy to see Progressive Liberalism Blogs banned here. Of course, this is only my personal opinion, Townhall is somebody else's property.

As a general
Rule, banning anyone is a bad idea. In the case of RA4T, I support it fully. But the blog, is the blog, is the blog.
They (TH) could however, turn his comments on if they chose to do so.

Um, davecatbone, were you referring to [http://moderatelyconservative.blogtownhall.com/] when you said, "If I want to subject myself to Liberal Spam like your above metioned blog..." then you should read my postings. So far, nothing liberal.
It is a privilege to post here.

To Boaz - banning a bad idea in Townhall
I am against banning, b/c I do believe in a system where like minded and different minded people can come together to discuss their similar or diverging opinions. I encourage a fair discussion, and would not want to silence anyone from expressing their opinions, including far left lunes, if they are "nice." Censorship is what the folks at DailyKos and Huffington do when someone says anything contrary to their liberal radical theology. I would love to see Townhall "turn on" the comments for the "American 4 Truth" blogger.

Armanius I was banned from Kos!!!
You know how I feel about being banned especially after lasting only two hours on DailyKos.com and the extreme left liberals. It isn't a good feeling to have your freedom of speech taken away, and then try to find a trace of anything that was posted to or from you and it was all erased!!!!
DailyKos made sure that I didn't have a trace of anything that I said or quoted on their site. I am sure that it was done so the liberals couldn't get their eyes on the truth that was put there by me. I only put factual information there and I was ripped apart like a pack of coyotes around an injured goat.

Charles - I was banned from DailyKos
I think it's a shame that DailyKos bloggers are so afraid of a good discussion. The whole party system is to allow the American to discuss their varying opinions so that eventually, somewhere in there, a compromise can be reached so that the will of the American people will be served. Liberals in the DailyKos clearly do not want any discussions or exchange of information. They censor anyone who does not unequivocally support their liberal agenda, including Clinton supporters. If Hillary and Bill only knew all that is being said about them on the blogs of the DailyKos and Huffington ... surely they must realize that the mainstream liberals no longer care for them.

Talk about censorship. Wow! I do wonder what Bill and Hillary would think about that. You can tell from the site that Hillary is not welcome there.

Sue - I have not been banned yet
I haven't been banned yet Sue. I've been very diplomatic so far. I am trying to last a week, so that I can start blogging or "diarying" there. I made a suggestion about Obama's VP choice, and was BLASTED by the bloggers at the DailyKos. Someone asked me if I am trying to get banned. Another said that I was trolling their site. LOL!!! They really don't want to hear any opposing views AT ALL. It's sort of like the "American 4 Truth" blogger that blogs here in Townhall. He writes his stuff, but will not let anyone put comments on it. They are afraid of a good debate where their lies would be exposed. So they go on just talking amongst themselves so that they can convinence each other that they have the truth on their side. Pretty sad. Well, let's see if I can give them the shock of their lives! :)

Aramanius - No Ban
Sorry, I read that incorrectly. I think I was just so over powered by the Obama yard sign they were offering.
So, what is the deal, if they don't like what you say, they blast you and then ask if you are trying to get banned? Did they have a favorite VP choice for Obama?
Well, I set up an account. I have to wait 24 hours before I can go on. I will let you know if I get in. Of course I will be using a fake name.

LOL! It will be great to have you there. One of my coworkers is also going to start blogging there. I really would love to just have good civil discussions with them, and try to understand their mindset. There is so much hatred in what they write. They favor a tree over a human. They favor a criminal over an unborn baby. They favor a terrorist over an American soldier. They favor an illegal alien criminal over a border guard. It just doesn't make sense.

LOL! Yeah, maybe that's what they are doing. Seeing if you are a registered Dem or not. Heck, even if you are a registered Dem, you could be a Hillary supporter, and that would be a "no no" there!

I went to the site. I logged in and there I was. At first I was like, who is that? Oops - forgot I had a fake name going there.
I think I can start posting a comment tomorrow. Yipee!
I was looking at some of the stuff. The immigration stuff is ridiculous. Go illegal criminals, down with the border patrol. Yikes!

It would be nice if some of the liberals would use the first ammendment responsibly and every thing was not so negative and ugly. There seems to be a lot of hate in their writings.
I went over to the DailyKos and spent my ten minutes. I found many of the comments vulgar and out of line. The one thing that I did notice is they have no concept of the topic at hand and would rather go off screaming with nasty comments, than actually address anything or have a civil debate.

What an angry human being and his comments towards you were out of line. When I was reading his posts, I could not believe it. Wow! By the way I did flag as one as offensive, because it was out of line and hateful.
Free speech is one thing, but his posts were "hate" speech.

The person is still harping about stuff that has nothing to do with his original post, and the comments made in response to his original post. He says that I hate black people, and then wonders where he called me a racist. No sense in trying to have a polite debate with him. He needs to be blogging in the DailyKos, not here.

I wish he would go to the Daily Kos or over to Huffington. I know, if you don't vote for Obama you are a racist and black hater. I don't understand people like him. What is up with all of the "hate" talk. Have a normal debate. Ugh!

Free Speech? Anti-Censorship? Nah. It's all an act at the Daily Kos. I was civil AND polite and I still got the boot. Extra funny: They even deleted the banning so as not to leave any evidence.
